Thank you so much for the video. It was a pleasure to watch :) The game is kind of a passion project of mine and I would love to bring more features in, unfortunately I can no longer afford to keep working on it a lot. But I'll continue to fix everything according to the players feedback as best as I can. On the whole, you've covered everything quite well. Too bad you didn't notice the pilot aces (Richthofen etc.) between the rookies ^^ The depiction and development of the aircraft is indeed historically accurate and technical progress also makes a big difference in flight behaviour. Also the pilots you fought against were beginners in the very first aeroplanes, that's why so it was easy. But I'm very pleased to see that you had fun. Let me know if you want a key for Roma Invicta. all the best Didi

Typical Styrian - If you want something - Try do it yourself first :) Must have cost you countless hours... But you succeeded! Would have been marvellous if you could have made the planes actually controllable with a joystick and a virtual cockpit - People love that stuff. I however know how much work that would have been. Aerial maneuvers to dodge enemy attacks could have also helped to bring some feeling in this. You could have added them with advancing skill levels to the pilots. Other than that you did marvellously! Gut gemacht!

At this stage the distinction between fighters, recon and bombers was almost non-existant. They all dropped grenades and bombs. Two seaters were better suited for photography and bombing. Edit: It looks like the game uses the arrows to tell you which direction tge bad guys are. Also, pilot training might be limited by the aircraft on hand. It might be that the red bomb symbol targets are out of range?
@jatzi15263 ай бұрын
I'd disagree. Multi-engine bombers were designed and in production in 1914. Major use started in 1915 and 16 but they existed and were in use in 1914. Case in point is the Ilya Mourometz, a Russian four-engine bomber whos first flight was in 1913 and it entered service in 1914. EDIT: Reading about the Ilya Mourometz its actually kinda crazy. Worlds first multi-engine plane in production, worlds first purpose-built bomber, and the damn thing could carry 800 kg of bombs and had 8 machine guns for defense including a tail gunner. And it was designed in 1913, although the bomber version wasn't designed I think until WWI actually started technically. Admittedly I dont think the tail gunner position was added in 1914 but rather than 1916 but still. Kinda crazy how much the very first bomber actually set the standard. Also also, seems this game is taking place in 1915 if you've got the DH.2's and the Eindeckers are in. And the Albatross C.III. Although it showed the Brequet 14 which wasnt deployed until 1917 so idk. But yeah bombers were not at all the same as fighters in WWI. Just look at the Handley Page O/100 and tell me thats anything like a fighter or reconnaissance plane. Or the Gotha G.IV which was badass or the Caproni Ca 3. All 3 of those are large twin-engine bombers, large for their time anyways, had multiple machine guns covering different angles and could carry relatively large bomb loads. Also apparently there was a fucking flying boat in WWI??!?!?! Look it up, the Felixstowe F.2A. Thing wouldn't look that out place in WWII tbh

Thanks for revealing such nice game! Just a tip for those who got just started. Manage your wings at airfields, not on strategic map. Choose carefully planes, dont mess fighters with bombers/scouts into same squadron. Better make bomber squadron and another one fighters to cover your bombers. On strategic map select fighter squadron and RMB on bomber's squadron you want defend. Bombers/recon have photo image over plane at airfield interface. Click on it if you need bombers, icon changes into a bomb, click again for photos. RMB helps a lot in many situations like adding/removing planes and pilots into squadrons, pilots into airschool etc.

Yes, that were some correct names on that medals. "Verwundetenabzeichen" means "wounded medal", so its the german version of the "purple heart". that second one, "Flugzeugführerabzeichen" wasnt a battle merit at all. It shows, that the waerer has accomplished the official flight school successfully. It translation is simply "airplane pilot medal".

Funny to watch the struggle as you learn lol. Its a good game. Yes the Fokker Scourge was because the Germans had much better planes than the Allies for a while - the Eindecker could shoot through its propellor whereas the British had the rather rubbish Airco pusher plane with a swivelling machine gun that as vastly inferior.

Aircraft in World War One were used as spotters for artillery. By 1918, the Allies had two-way radio equipped to their fighters, which guaranteed aerial superiority. Their role as artillery spotters and scouts alone were incredibly decisive, especially during the 100 Days Offensives of 1918, notably at the Battle of Amiens.
@mauriceridesout2 ай бұрын
I thought the Germans had better planes until later on in the war.
@LachoDroogie2 ай бұрын
@@mauriceridesout by 1918, the Germans were facing crippling fuel shortages, which meant that a lot of their planes were running on things like castor oil and other cheap substitutes, which dramatically affected the efficiently and effectiveness of their aircraft. Also, the Allies unleashed their massive industrial power to bear. German planes were good, but the Allies caught up quickly, especially after the Fokker Scourge of mid 1915 to early 1916. German doctrine of heavily focusing on individual fighter aces was also overcome by the Allies’ focus on broad competency rather than a reliance on key pilots. Long story short - the Allies fought the war of attrition with a much more logical strategy.
