I really like the design of the Green Gigas. I was expecting a bird but instead we got something straight out of Evangellion. It looks nothing like the Red Gigas either so I'm excited to see future Gigas designs.

I got to say that one of my favorite aspects of this game is the dual attack mechanic. There being separate mechanics for a on foot attack versus a on the ship attack is entirely unique and just cocking lovely!

Alphonso was ALMOST a good leader for a second ordering that retreat before I realized that no, he's not simply pulling back, he's straight up running tail between legs. Not even sticking around at a distance to observe.

I always kept the Captain's Stripes, on my very first playthrough I never used them as I expected to get my own Albatros at some point but then ended up getting the greatest airship in the entire game..... Leaving it vague to avoid spoilers for ancient game. We really need a Steam Release of this game on PC.😎

I assumed the green giga would be some kind of bird like creature, from the bird being one of the clues that pointed to the lost city and the fact that the lost city is at cloud level and even above it.

Fina's Lunar Glyph is actually really good on large enemies like slothstra since its petrification effect hits surpisingly often on larger enemies and it only costs 3 Spirit

My strat playing this game has been pretty much trying Lunar Glyph on every big enemy since it's so cheap, in fact I permanently stoned the bird boss at the end of temple lol

I often fantasize of opening up a small development studio with the goal of remaking and reviving old games that died off, like what MegaPixel Studios did for Panzer Dragoon. Skies of Arcadia, Shining Force III, Burning Rangers and maybe Phantasy Star 1, 2 & 4 would be my first targets, and I'd hope to do it like the Wonder Boy remake or Halo, where you can freely toggle between the original look and the new graphics - helps to keep a remake authentic to the original. Sadly, it's just a pipe dream, I don't have the money to attempt something like that, but if I ever win (and actually play) a lottery, that's my goal!

"I think these mists are actually clouds." You live in a world of floating islands and sky pirates, Vyse. Clouds are not noteworthy!

Except they weirdly are. There's a floor of clouds below that once a ship enters it's ravaged by strong winds and destroyed, then there's the ceiling of clouds that no ships should be able to pierce through. So Vyse remarking about being in that ceiling of clouds alludes to his party being among a rare few to reach that altitude. It's actually quite weird how blasé they are about it here given how big of a deal it is later on.

The Gigas are kind of disappointing . I mean, how did they destroy the world way back when considering that a few teenagers and their grumpy uncle Ahab are able to stop them in a matter of minutes? Still, loving the series!

The main reasons are that they're not trying to destroy them in direct combat. If a Gigas was sent to another land, they'd have a hard time getting to the crystal holder to disable it. Although it does harm that ludonarrative aspect when ol' Jolly Green takes out an Ironclad in one punch, yet Drachma's little Schooner takes a dozen backhands and a flying boulder or two in stride. Also kinda sucks how the initial reveal shows it piercing the ceiling of clouds with it's stature, yet when you get to it, it's shrunk to about a third of the size.

FFV had all of 4* party members too, and you had access to all four before the second dungeon... I think. And that's one of my favourite JRPGs. *You can quibble with this but in most respects it's true 😉
