Man this video makes me so happy. Crystal is my home mountain and I am glad you appreciate it! It’s a spectacular mountain with great views and great skiing. Hit up green valley express, there’s some good trees over there. I’d spend most of the day in northway. It’s a little colder back there and more shaded, but it’s great skiing, steep and long runs. Stop at snorting elk cellar for a beer at the end of the day. Loving the stoke!

Oi~ finally, I thought you had skipped my original home mountain with all those Oregon videos. Glad you caught it on a nice day! I haven't skied there in over 15 years but can still visualize the runs, doing Brain Damage chute off of King was my first resort hike past the gates experience. Green Valley is ok, a couple decent lines but Snorting Elk bowl can have some nice powder stashes and there used to be a couple little cliffs and rocks that you could reliably catch air from with good landings- 10-30ft drops so it is a very nice spot to get in practice. Night skiing at Crystal can be surprisingly fun, mostly just Goldrush run but Crystal is the only mountain I've been able to get over 70,000 vertical in one day adding together both day and night skiing. 8:30am till about 8pm, only 1 bathroom break, eat and hydrate on the lift. If you catch this in time- try to get a Backcountry card- there are a ton of backcountry options around Crystal with hike access from the resort. Going further you can get to Sheep's Lake couloir which actually feels very alpine. In addition to Storm King- for skiing back into the resort, Crystal has Northback and Southback- they used to run a cat or shuttle bus during some parts of the season so you didn't have to walk out all the way.

Lucas, I just started following this season and you absolutely are a SAVAGE. Your VLOG is top notch and Crystal Mtn, being in my homestate, seeing how much you take in the beauty of the PNW and all the mountain peaks, tells me how much you live each day just enjoying natures beauty along with shredding those skiis of yours. Looking forward to your future content.

If you have some time, you might find Alpental to be a cool smaller resort with a good mix of black diamond/double black runs. Your ikon pass gets you 7 days there as part of Summit at Snoqualmie.
@morgananderson9647 Жыл бұрын
@Lucas- Great Video! Sorry the weather has been a double edged sword here in the PNW. On one hand, I'm so happy you get to be there on a sunny day, as the scenery is beyond spectacular. (We don't get many, if any bluebird days in Feb. in the PNW) and unfortunately, the flip side is the snow conditions will become hard & crunchy. These types of conditions can really take it out on a skier. Sadly, we are a little short on snow coverage this year in the PNW. During a more typical snow fall year, many of the rocks you see exposed would be covered up. I a little bummed that when you get to my home Mtn, (Alpental) so many of the great runs there will be even more hard & crunchy. Somehow it will all get figured out... Let's Go!!! Oh yeah - I really liked the line you did at ~17min into the video. You picked your track through there so well. Best regards, Mo-
@AlanLamb11 Жыл бұрын
I noticed that- quite a lot of rocks but the top of chair 6 did not look as icy or exposed as I would have thought from the amount of rocks I saw him go past in Bear Pits and some other spots in HIgh Campbell.

Good that you showed some criticism of the bag. Maybe Jon Olsson can use your advise on creating at better bag with larger zipper pulls. The ability to hook your skis to the bag helps a ton when you have to hike. May be you can figure a quick release system with the camera cube and Velcro. A show repair place can sew in Velcro straps for you. You can find thick wide Velcro and larger sport zippers on Amazon.

the zipper pulls were big enough, they just got kind of hidden around the flap if that makes sense! the bag is still new so maybe they will do a revised version in the future
