A Romanian friend translates the moment when he starts skiing: "My dear friend, let's go for a race". This guy is very calm for having a bear chasing him. I bet he's skiing backwards too, since it would be very difficult to get this kind of footage facing the other way.

You are probably right. But the bear does not know humans are not bear, and if you look at videos on how they play together...well basically, same result as if the bear was looking for food. Humans end up chopped. And then that may trigger hunger..oh blood, I can eat with something I played with..yay.

Well the bear population exceeded the optiumum în Romania,we asked other European countries to take some of the bears but they didnt wanted to help and according to european laws we cannot shoot the bears either

Brown Bears are similar to wolf's and humans. They are endurance hunters. This brown bear could have followed for hours waiting for this guy to get tired. This bear seemed to be actively hunting people... I hope it was trapped and relocated.

Brown bears are an apex predator. Not taking this seriously is a mistake. The bear looks young and unsure if its approaching prey or threat. Bear's goal, pacing around in front to the right then back left, was to separate the pack and find the weak one. The instructor obliged, separating himself. Possibly the worse decision. With no group to defend him, he was one slip away from being lunch.

bears are only classified as apex predators because they are not preyed upon by other animals. But they're not predators that hunt and kill to survive. They do fish trout and salmon out of the rivers, but bears mainly eat plants. They are omnivores and opportunistic scavengers. of course, polar bears are carnivores and apex predators but are classified as marine mammals. But brown and black bears are pretty solitary animals. Unless it's starving, or has it's cubs, or it gets startled, a bear usually won't attack humans.

Idk about this assessment. That bear was little more than a cub, and looking for someone to play with. Doesn't mean it isn't dangerous, but it wasn't looking to eat them.

Bears don't always hibernate throughout the entire winter and since this bear is fairly Young it probably didn't build up enough fat to have a full hibernation. I live in grizzly country and you see it often.

I think he was brave. He drew the bear away from the crowd on the top of the hill. Them slowed down to keep the bears attention as he closed in on some other skiers downhill. I would probably had barreled down to the bottom as fast as I can.

this guy is a dummy if they just seen another brown bear a month ago shouldn't they have a gun on the instructors just to be safe? like he could've let off a warning shot and it might ran away but that was definitely not smart to keep slowing down amd stopping while the bear was a full charge running down that mountain smh some people....
