To be fair, if Winter Dragons are made of ice, there's a not 0 percent chance that he'll just reform once he's had a chance to cool off a bit. Water can re-freeze, after all. Plus, Pondhopper doesn't seem particularly bothered by what just happened. If there were real consequences, I feel she'd probably be trying to comfort the poor boy. They are best friends, after all. Could also be I am reading too much into it, but I am also the dork who wrote a 10k+ word long fanfiction about these two and a rescue mission, so I am biased toward overthinking things. XD
