Great video! I've been using an 18 year old Craftsman metal gas push mower. I've rebuilt it many times, the pull start is killing me, and its drive wheels no longer work. I bought the Skil 40 mower a few days ago, and I will NEVER go back to gas. It is truly amazing. I can do my front and back lawns and have about 20% charge left on the battery. Cuts like a laser beam. It is lightweight and ultimately maneuverable in a way my old mower isn't. Fantastic product. I will be getting the string trimmer next. I love my 2022 Chevy Trailblazer that runs on gas, but for my lawn tools, I will move to all electric. Thanks again!

I bought the Skil 40-volt pole saw. My daughter and I gave it a good workout at her house on its first outing. It performed like a champ. Don't settle for a pole saw that lacks a telescoping length. It does get heavy at its full 10 ft length. So I've bought a 5 amp hour battery to provide more counterweight. In fact, I also now hang a 2lb hand weight from the near end of the pole saw for even more counterweight!

Any information about average run time for the string trimmer or typical numver of cuts for the pole saw? They both come with 2.5 ah batteries.

What's up with the powercore 20v 8" pole saw Was it discontinued? I know it existed because my local hardware had it on their site, but out of stock. When l check online, l can't find anything, it's like it disappeard out of existance. I was going to get the 20v chainsaw and build from there, polesaw, trimmer, drill, impact etc. I like the whole line up. But l need the polesaw. Don't want to go 40v powercore, just for that. Ryobi or craftsman I guess, they have it.

These are not bad, I own a few, however its just not worth it in the long run. They have very limited options when it comes to other tools in the same line up. You get more value with other brands that do have a larger lineup.

On the weeder, can you swap out the wire for a head that has teeth or something to cut thicker wood branch vegetation? I have not been able to find one that fits. Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

Definitely a better battery warranty than the Ryobi or stuff from Harbor Freight. The pole saw has a 10in chain and a very easy adjustment

great review! would you recommend the skil 40v pole saw, or the Milwaukee 18v pole saw with the 8ah battery?
@Shoptoolreviews2 жыл бұрын
Milwaukee pole saw is a beast and workhorse, so it's definitely a better performer. The SKIL 40V pole saw is a great value and performs well for the price. Thanks for watching.

Is the motor down on the head near the string? If so, you do not want it. Having the motor down there puts a lot of weight where you do not want it, and after a while you WILL feel it in your back. Trust me I did grounds care for a school district for 35 years, I know what I am talking about. You want the motor up next to the battery. Makes for a much more comfortable trimmer.

Not with battery powered trimmers especially 40v+. The weight of the battery and handle counteracts the weight of the head. They are very well balanced

Im 61, and I bought the trimmer and its not easy putting the trimmer line on, it tangles & the battery takes an hour to recharge, plus it doesn't last more than 15 minutes when trimming weeds. This guy is talking about a 1/4 acre very flat lawn. If the lawn is overgrown, the battery is not going to last a fraction of what he says. He's being paid by Skil to bragg. This is an infomercial.
@Shoptoolreviews8 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing. This video is not a paid infomercial, just to be clear. Anyone purchasing battery powered lawn equipment should know that it's meant for maintaining a yard, not recovering it from weeks of ignoring it. There are a few mowers and string trimmers that rival the best at knocking down the high stuff, but these are much more expensive and you're still going to go through batteries. With a maintained yard, this SKIL 40V equipment is more than capable of handling a typical 1/4-acre cookie-cutter American lot. String trimmer line is string trimmer line, regardless of the trimmer, you always have keep it untangled while installing. Some may be easier than others, but it's still an issue of coiled up plastic string.

My first electric mower was a 40v black and Decker. Yeah it worked, but it had issues. Tall grass, had to cut half as wide so instead of a 20 inch mower I had a 10 inch mower, otherwise it just wasn't as powerful as I needed. I could not in good faith tell anyone to buy a 40v mower. Maybe, and I mean maybe if you have a small city lot then this might work for you but if you have a 1/4 acre lot I'd buy a product from ego or another brand with a higher reputation in outdoor products. I am now on my 3rd electric mower an ego select cut. I upgraded to it not because I had to as my 2016 ego still runs great. I would recommend #1 50v or higher battery #2 5ah minimum. #3 a brushless motor is mandatory. It's just that much better (and will last longer).

My Craftsman 60v is great...I recommend it to everyone... I've had it 3 years and it's running like it did when I got it... great unit...7.5ah battery cuts all I need and I still have a bar left over...(1/3 acre) I've never ran the battery dead..... 👍... got the string trimmer and blower also w/2.5ah batteries... all with 5 year warranties......no regrets....

This mower won’t bog down. I bought one based on seeing videos of it in high grass.
