I like this saw and it cut good the few times I've used it but in less than a year since purchase, the battery had died. I couldn't recommend this saw based on my experience. Batteries should last longer than a year or so, and especially the little I used it overall.

A year later the battery is not lasting as long on a charge as it did when new - all right for small jobs- I’m not sure I would buy another one- maybe a Milwaukee- but I’ll probably invest in a good gas saw

EGO! 'nuff said! Also; for the type of work you were doing; unless you are concerned about weight; you should invest in a much larger battery. You should be able to get some satisfaction from SKIL; as their batteries have a two year limited warranty. I don't know why their warranty isn't any better; EGO and SKIL are owned by the same parent company; and my EGO 12ah battery is warranted for FIVE years!

Decent saw however on bigger tree stumps , limbs etc… it easily throws the chain an eventually the chain will be loose . It comes with a side tightener knob but it’s not overly effective. Still for the money it could be worse , charging after 45 mins of hard Cutting is a major negative as well.

The "only 45 minutes" is not the saw's fault; it's the dinky battery that comes with it. I had the same problem with my 10" Greenworks chainsaw. It came with a 2ah battery. The saw ran great...while it ran. Installing a 4ah battery made a world of difference.

a chain saw is not something i use regular so a battery powered one vs gas/oil mix was the way to go. since this one was marked down at lowes to $149 i decided on this brand. i have done heavy pruning on 3 crepte mrytles and recharged once. not the best battery life but who cares? not like i am going to want to run a chain saw for hours on end anyway.

The more I use it the more I like it, it’s actually not bad - after cutting for for 40 minutes it’s time to take a break anyway 😊 thanks for watching
