he STARTED to put it anywhere. Our team caught it and told him behind the line. He never actually shoots it from down there. He picked it back up and put it in the kitchen.

When you don't have a shot, doing something extreme is the wrong thing to do. It often sells you out and you lose the rack. Much smarter to play a safety shot instead of doing a low percentage play. Top ranked players rarely take a low-percentage shot and when they do it usually ends up bad for them.

I have to admit I have a problem when playing a player of lower skill level. Especially women! My wife used to get mad at me if I beat her and I generally play harder shots so they have a chance. Even losing a few games to them isn't a bad thing. I've heard it said that that's unsportsmanlike but really it makes them so happy that they won what's the harm?

If it's a league or tournament, I still try to give it my all. If we're playing for fun, then I tend to play a lot more relaxed against a lower skill level. With that said, it's hard to give it your all when deep down you feel like there is a good chance that you'll get another shot if you miss.

Just so you know a 7 vs 4 should be a 5/2 race, not a 5/3. Says it on the top of the scoresheet. Additionally then a 7 vs 3 is 6/2 and 7 vs 2 is 7/2.

You need to break that 8 out of jail early on. Shoot the 2 at pocket speed, use his ball to stop the cue while driving his into the rail. Josh, do you know the trick on how to know what number the stripes are? If the stripe ball is, let's say green.. what number is the solid green ball? 6. Add 8 to it to get the number of the striped ball. 14. Red striped.. solid red is 3. Add 8. striped red is 11. I couldn't believe it when I found this out after all these years. It works for all the colors. Of course it's better just to memorize them but as a 9-ball player I seldom used the striped balls except the 9 so after many years I still didn't know what number the stripes were.

Played a 4 last night 3/5 race I S8 first rack, second rack I made the 8 into the wrong pocket on a bank so now she was on the hill. I took two shots of captain Morgan and boom 5 racks in a row for the win (mind you this woman who is a 4 has been a 5 for years and just recently went back down)

Can your skill level ever go down? Like if you are a skill level 7 and you lose to a skill level 3 due to nothing but LUCK, does your skill level go down to 6?

It’s mostly based on average innings needed to win a game. So if you need a lot of turns at the table and can’t run balls your SL drops. If a 3 breaks and runs like a 7 they will go up. It doesn’t impact the opponent

According to the APA, there's a super secret algorithm, that was invented by Einstein, then refined by aliens, that no one fully understands, lol.. that's how SL is determined. You could go down from a 7 but, it would take a LOT of losing. It's extremely rare
