I used to love this tank before the HE rework. But now it has become more important to hit the weakspots in the enemies armor so now the combination of the horrible accuracy, bad gun handling and low shell velocity those guns usually come with makes it almost impossible to make this work like it used to for me. I wish WG would look into tanks like this and give tanks like this and KV-2 something to make it easier to hit where you're aiming .And I don't mean sniping from 500m with derp guns but making them easier to work at mid to short range so the knowledge you have about the armor layouts actually matters and it's not just praying you hit where you're aiming. Just my opinion about this topic and you're free to disagree. Anyway it's day 8 of asking for a video with the Jagdpanzer IV and I wish you all merry Christmas, happy holidays and some time to spend with your friends and family. It would be more usable if WG gave the 76mm guns the actual correct penetration values for M93 HVAP. It is supposed to be 239mm (same as for the Achilles and Firefly, but wargaming gave it an arbitrarily lower value. (They can't even claim it's for balance, because the t34-85m, cromwell, churchill and others get better pen at the same tiers.) They neutered the HE, but didn't fix the accuracy, sigma [sigma is the value indicating the probability shots will go toward the center of the aim marker. WG capped it at 2.0 in 2013, but never said if certain tanks get worse sigma than the cap. WoWS at least publishes Sigma for each ship.], soft stats, or give useful alternate guns

I just dusted this tank off. The derp is exactly as you described. I put the 76mm on it. But now I am wonder why I just don't play the other shermans instead? What's the point to this tank now? I used to love the derp with the stock turret armor. It WAS a unique fun tank.

I love the armour of this tank, although I haven't played it since 2015. I had a game with 4500 damage blocked with it. pushing straight across the field, lighting up everyone and my team shooting. It was a blast and I survived the game.

The bonus of the HE changes is more reliably penetraring weak targets. While you cannot hurt armored targets, you more reliably prey on paper armored tanks. Overall less versatile certainly.

IMO. The HE nerf was about money. People using the cheaper ammunition (HE) could still do significant damage, cheaply. Cant have players using cheap ammo, now can we WG ???

Ah Skill this video perfectly shows off new Jumbo, second game is what the Jumbo is all about, so much fun. But you said it yourself many times, I cannot do anything, you have to pick lightly armoured targets. Previously I would go straight for the heavies with the HP and annoy them 100hp at a time. Now if the enemy has armour it's useless.

My last few games In my kv2 half my hits done 0 damage even to low armour tanks. . 2 zero damage hits on an ebr in the last game with it was enough to make me sell it. . RIP HE 2010 - 2021.

oh my god skiiieeeel!! you played one of my beloved tanks! thank you so much. Also I think the derpgun at tier 6+ becomes almosot useless because of penetration. T6 Medium can do back to back 2K+ dmg games for me so I prefer it. Especially dealing with excelsior and kv 1 is very troublesome

Before i used the derp gun but now i play with the 76mm gun that fits in the stock turret. I like to play as heavy tank and the derp gun does not work against heavy tank frontaly. Jumbo is still my favourite tier 6 tank

I was at 90% moe with this beauty before HE changes and I kind of gave up. I love to derp but they ruined this and KV-2 for me. I still want to 3 mark it but I always get +2 mm when I go for a battle in it

I had similar situation with M1A1 Reggie Sherman and stopped playing it. Took it out and accidentally got my 3 mark with it last week. I guess a lot of people stopped playing those. Take your jumbo back out and it might be easy to pick up your 3 mark

Tbh i didnt watch each secound of video so maybe i missed part where you say this tank has 2 turrets.First one give you more armor and slower reload while sec gives you faster reload and better gun handling but less armos i used to play this tank it was ok in older times

yes, it is a usual thing for some layers to go full premium. on some tanks it is acceptable as ammo supply is limited. Most times one can question this behaviour

I don't care where you stand on the high explosive "rework" vs. "nerf" debate... At the end of the day, Wargaming's stated goal, to make HE more consistent, has been an abject failure. Their implicit goal, to get people to turn off their brains, fire premium and hemorrhage credits, looks to be a resounding success for them.

HE is more consistent now when you can penetrate. So it is now the perfect ammo for rearshots (or sideshots when you have HEP/HESH). It now performs better in that role, but worse for derping around. Honestly, that part is good. What sucks is how it further buffed the hulldown meta.

3/5/7 MM and HE rework made me quit this game. True, I`m a casual player, but WG tries as hard as can be to scare me away. Nope, I can´t play 6 hrs a day, nope, I´m not willing to sink 1k bucks a year into this game. Good luck @ WG surviving with only Chieftain & EBR / Progetto players left playing.
