I think she'll be an alright midlaner, push and roam, ganking their own lane, and letting the enemy push to you would be fine. Saying she's not a good midlaner would be like saying qiyana isn't good, which she is. In lane you'll just have to save your w and use your e more often to gap close until the enemy gets low and use their mobility spells to try to escape, then go in with w and second q if possible.

@@th__n_nybro Q does not require delay, the second q will just deal the REMAINING bleed damage, so you could wait 1 second or 4 seconds the total damage will be the same, its just execute damage so you would use it at the end of your combo, but q w e q takes like 1.5 seconds, add an auto and you still aren't even doing a 2 second combo and you only auto if you took prowlers

I just played her a couple of times in mid and she doesn't feel like an assassin at all. Her kit plays like a bruiser with some sustain and sticking power, kind of like Irelia, except the damage is a bit more bursty and less sustained. I guess I'll be trying some bruiser builds on top lane tonight

Played her mid lane into a Zoe just now, second game with her for me, and I managed to get pretty damn fed due to some good roams and her kit being pretty intuitive to use for a scrub like me that's not very mechanically talented. I also went Eclipse, BC and Edge of Night. Enemy team consisted of a pretty fed Urgot (not massively so, but he was doing a lot better than our Yasuo) and even though I was really ahead the Urgot in gold and fairly ahead in terms of XP, I could never have 1v1 that guy. And yeah, Urgot does scale really well into late game but even if I had gone something like Stridebreaker or Divine Sunderer, I still think I would have felt extremely weak and unable to duel him in a 1v1 due to lack of base stats. Naafiri honestly feels a lot like an AD Diana to me, in that she's very binary in how her kit works and has pretty much exactly the same weaknesses like Diana does, sans being slightly more mobile because Diana can only dash twice before her E goes on CD and it's a pretty long CD early game and her E can only dash to something rather than freely. Like Diana I also feel that Naafiri falls pretty similar in terms of damage output in that Naafiri can delete squishy targets extremely easily even with a bruiser-ish build like I went with in this game (I ran first strike over conqueror though; but it would not have made much of a difference) and while you can play like a bruiser you don't have the stats to 1v1 bruisers unless you are *extremely* ahead of them. Need to play around more to get a better feel for damage ranges, but I don't think you need to go full lethality for maximum value, because as long you are at least even with enemy mid laner, you will do good enough damage vs squishy targets.

I don't think she scales that well at all. She feels like a mid-game champion that spikes with 2 items + boots (idk what the people below are on about 3; she's not quite Qiyana level of scaling) and has good all-in potential once she gets her level 6 and you want to dominate the game with your strong roam presence. The problem with going "you can delete squishies with 3 items" is that that applies to pretty much every champion in the game except supports, so that's not a good comparison to how well the champion scales. You can tell it's an early to mid-game champion when you consider the champion design i.e. how well does the champion do in team fights and what does the champion contribute to a team fight? And the answer is that the champion isn't that great once 5v5s are a thing and people begin to fiesta mid as opposed to playing towards the champion strength which is making picks 1v1 or by taking advantage of chaotic jungle skirmishes. If you are not behind at least, you can of course absolutely play Naafiri well in 5v5s but it requires a lot more effort with clever flanking and good awareness of enemy CC potential because if you get CC'd, like any assassin in late game, you can kiss your sorry ass goodbye. Another tell-tale sign that it's an early to mid-game champion is that when you compare Naafiri's ability to 1v1 champions that scale well into late game, the answer is that unless it's a mage or adc, chances are that you can't. It doesn't mean that there's no outplay potential there, but the possibility is a lot lower and you will struggle a lot more, especially if you are even with the enemy champion in terms of XP and gold. Also, Naafiri feels absolutely terrible to play from behind, which is your typical assassin experience, because the damage just isn't there anymore and everyone can just kill you from a bit of CC before you have any real impact. It's an early to mid game champion that relies on the ability to snowball early to get the most value from its kit when teams aren't grouped as much and the game state is more chaotic.

She's pretty good into Yasuo though, because she can always jump behind or to Yasuo to avoid his wind wall in order to land Q. Her weakness into the Yasuo matchup is more so that Yasuo prefers extended fights and she doesn't, at least if you build her assassin over bruiser.

So, two things: - Assuming she didn't get a buff to her jungle cleartime during her PBE cycle, her first cleartime is *terrible* . I'm talking about ~4 minutes for a first full clear, although someone who is better at jungling than me can probably shave off some of that time. This makes you very vulnerable to invades, makes you unable to contest first scuttle and unable to follow the map tempo of most other junglers. Rank 3 Q and a Serrated Dirk solves most of these problems but by that time you could've been easily set irrecoverably behind. Kinda hope I can find a solution for this though becaue I'd love to play her in the jungle. - Again, assuming nothing has changed during PBE, Naafiris' packmates AS *fully* scale with Naafiris' own AS, making Hail of Blades and other AS runes potentially very powerful and maybe even enables a duelist build based on Lethal Tempo in the toplane (Ravenous Hydra into Stridebreaker maybe).

All this means, is that she's not a full clear jungle, do a 3 camp lvl 3 then gank, and then back to jungle if you need. Play to the strengths and just be aware of the weaknesses, you don't need to play into the weaknesses

Then again, maybe my clearing just sucks, I've seen a vid of someone doing it in 3:40. That's not enough to contest scuttle but maybe it's just about enough to not be a free kill.

She is a midlaner, Riot has indicated that they intend to balance her around being a mid laner. Any guide on how the champ plays should be centered around how to play in the mid lane.
