That "take a breath before peeking" tactic is also useful to readjust your aim before peeking so you can pre-aim the angle you're looking to fight as for the shroud movement, a good way to train it in the range is "kill 50 bots" and turn on strafing bots. You have to stop and aim at them when you see a strafing bot in your fov.

ive had the same thing (and still do to some degree), what helped me was getting ready to fight most of the time. Bc in DMs you are always searching for fights, in ranked you dont and your brain isnt as ready! hope it helps ^^ 14:35 explains it pretty well

Confidence is also important. If you peek with perfect crosshair placement and preparation with proper peek but no confidence,your brain will not help you aim and you will lose the gunfight. In deathmatch we have confidence as death I'd dm has little pressure than ina ra ked match. I heard somone say that don't take ranked seriously so much. Somtimes you will be and sometime it's your teammates

You should also look at who you’re fighting in DM, you might be playing against lower ranks which can give you some false affirmation. If you’re dominating people in your rank or higher, then chances are you need to work on your gamesense and knowledge instead.

The key thing you're missing here is shot confirmation. You rarely actually correct your aim before shooting in the examples given here and this is what makes this movement style so good.

It's crazy how such a simple piece of advise like: look, stand still, aim and shoot helped me a lot... I played one game after having heard that and I got almost a minimum of 2 kills per round (normally that would be 1 assist or one kill)

I knew something was wrong when I came back to Valorant. I took a break for like a month or two because it was frustrating. I used to be pretty solid, not a god or anything but I was good. I would also counter strafe regularly and still did that recently after coming back and I just wasn’t landing shots and wasn’t sure why. Now I know and I can’t wait to see what happens after I try this

Kind of like speed solving a rubiks cube, you build most of the turning into muscle memory so you can focus on look ahead (Looking for what you do next) rather than trying to do both at the same time. (in reference to multi-tasking)

I just started playing valorant a few days ago, and the fact that I cannot move while I shoot is one of the hardest parts for me. I just recently got a PC, so I played mostly browser games on my Chromebook, and for the first few weeks on my PC. The main one I played was krunker, where if you don't move 70mph while you shoot you're dead. OF course, the complete opposite is true in Valorant. Going from playing Fortnite/CoD to Valo is a massive change in gameplay that I'm still trying to get used to. With Fortnite you're constantly jumping and trying to avoid shots, but in Valo you basically are told to stand still in line of sight of the enemy and shoot. Slowly trying to get used to it lol

Been doing this for a while and yes, it works. Instead of fully counterstrafing. You can tap the opposite direction briefly, i've found it faster than waiting if you release the key (correct me on this) and once my crosshair placement was usually on my opponents heads, it just rocks. Slowing it down at times doesn't mean it's bad, you sometimes need that reset to calm down and get that clutch/play.

We had that experiment in class but I got 17 correct. I however have the opposite issue that I die too much from moving too little. Habits from playing Ava especially since I mained mosin nagant, vss vintorez and p90. While the p90 was good for run and gun since it's a pointman gun, if you wanna hit anything long range, you need to really stop moving. On the bright side, nobody expects you to snipe with that in ava so they kinda put you on low threat and you can get a few kills before they notice.

I'm new to valorant, I installed it yesterday and I'm so invested into this tbh. But here everything is different gameplay wise. Tryna move while shooting is clearly not working. Played for like 11 matches in 2 days and I only got 3 wins. Mostly because I can't contribute well to the team. 2 of my matches where I win I have like good KDA tho. The reason is that my enemy is also a fellow noob and I also find them moving constantly while shooting which I actually thought that could kill me like he was near me but he couldn't even kill me. I was just crouching still (this is ambush btw) and he's moving for like 2 seconds and he didn't even scratched me. Same thing happen to some of the scenarios where I find myself freezes after being ambushed. I killed him successfully while I'm frozen in place. Unfortunately I died tho cuz someone was shooting me from behind. I had a hunch that because of the recoil of the guns, I have to stand still first then shoot. Tho I find this hard to do and still stuck to losestreak. This is why I we're able to find this video to improve my aim lmao.

Yo idk why but i one tap better with a vandal than any other gun, i usually dont go for spraying, know how to put my crosshair and shoot the enemy in the head but when i switch over to weapons like sheriff, guardian and Marshall i usually cant one tap and end up spaming. It is probably a phisological problem making my brain think these Guns are way weaker but idk if there is a way to fix it pls respond i need help (sorry for my spelling errors if there is any, im not english and so the phone will try to auto correct my words to something different)

as a high level aimer myself, I can clearly say that shrouds strength is NOT his raw aim. popping heads in games doesn't necessarily mean that your raw aim is insanely good. shroud clearly is a player that relies mostly on movement, timing and reading the match. there is even proof to it. there are some clips where he plays aimlabs with all of his movement stripped away and its honestly quite awful for a player of his skill. You point that out pretty well in this video and it aligns with my observations.

No, Deadzoning is just as accurate and you still should Deadzone, depending on the gun fight. This tactic isn't meant to be used in every single gun fight, for example if you're fighting enemies from +30m, it's actually really likely when you swing you just won't land your first shot. Part of the reason for this is because the further away the target is, the more difficult it is for you to hit them. The other reason, is your weapons just aren't 100% accurate, so at range there's a chance you miss even if you are aiming at them. In this case, being mobile is important because if you stand still you'll be an easy target. If you're fighting multiple enemies at the exact same time, it's also going to be smart to dead zone because even if you kill the first while standing still, you'll likely get traded.

I like to think that Shroud does that cus he has Godlike aim and he doesn't need to strafe to fix his aim. Strafing is one way to fix your aim so it can lead to more headshots. The downside is you might be more frantic to move, because that's what I did.

no, Counter strafe only useful for long range

To be honest yeah. Trying to counter strafe takes away from your aim. You’d think it helps, but in reality most of time it overcomplicates things and messes up first shot accuracy. When you see someone come to a stop, properly line up a headshot, and you’re good. Plus counter strafing doesn’t have as much of an effect compared to games like CSGO. The difference between counter strafing and letting go of your movement key in this game is very minimal.

Ok to be blunt that is an exaggeration. I know it feels like that's the case but trust me it's not. I'm no pro and still learning myself but one piece of advice I can give is be honest and never blame the other player for your own failure. If you try to find excuses as to why you keep dying, you'll never improve. You can't control the fact other players are better than you but you can change the way you play and for the better. @@kptmrtyI think I would disagree, to be fair in some ranks they would be moving and one tapping but because of leakers advantage it still looks like they are still moving, it could be rng or them just having good aim, that is not to say that the person could out aim them or out maneuver them, which has the question of doing what when should you counter strafe/strafe in a fight or move after shooting to make yourself unhittable, I know that he said only strafe at a long distance but I find myself getting one tapped at closer ranges when I don’t strafe,in I’m a lost zone.
