I'm going to throw in my 2 cents for the song meaning :) Personally, this song brings my mind to John 4, where Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well. He offers her living water, which will permanently quench her thirst. I feel like Skillet is asking for that living water that will become a ''spring of water welling up to eternal life". Or, it could mean the communion feast of His blood and body. Just my thoughts:)

The lyrics can go deeper than that. It sounds like the need to become stronger and accepted, and the thirst for that power can immediately can make one consumed by that desire. It can take so much before one snaps and becomes embraced by anger, thinking that the rage can make that person feel like a god. It's the line between light and darkness we walk on like a tightrope, and the need for strength can drive us falling into the shadows.

Even if you know about the Biblical passages referring to "thirst for righteousness", it's _really_ hard not to think of the sexual metaphor first if you're not a dyed-in-the-wool born-again Christian.
