Pete kinda reminded me of a friend I once met back in elementary. We'd play together and messing around stuffs, sometimes I'd stop by his place to play Gamecube. He was moving to the other cities for further education so we had to split eventually. On the last day of school he gave me this necklace thing he's been always carrying. Its an old-rusty metal ring thing hanging on a leather strip. We never see each other again after that. But I still have that necklace hanging on my desklamp. And I'd never throw that away. I believe everyone has something like this, something small but everyone can relate to. May it be the beanie, the necklace or something significant to only you and the person you shared memory with. Whenever anyone mentioned to me about this movie, this scene always comes first to my mind. I really like the way they put this little scene into the film.

I got all emo when Skinny Pete gives his beanie to Jesse. He gives the excuse that it will help Jesse from being recognized, but he really gives it as a symbol of his friendship, something for Jesse to remember him by, and mostly to make it easier to say goodbye. Skinny Pete knows he won't see Jesse again, but through the beanie, part of him is going with his hero and shit, so it isn't the end of the friendship. It left Jesse with no words to say. Excuse me, there's something in my eyes.

Skinny Pete is truly a ride-or-die homie and friend.

its actually sad knowing that this chaotic goodbye is probably the last time Jesse will ever see Skinny Pete and Badger given the fact that Ed would have strongly advised him to cut ties with everyone he knew since the authorities will be keeping a close watch on them for a very long time. In fact with the capture of Saul at the end of BCS, I wouldn't be surprised if the DEA doubled the reward on Jesse to further close the book on the Heisenberg case.

Also, if Jesse ever was arrested, Marie can testify that he was in her house working with Hank and Steve. Lastly, there is Skylar, who now that Jack and the gang are dead (likely she would still be scared of them) could corroborate that they killed Hank and Steve and that Walt and Jesse were having a falling out.

Amazing scene. I’m so glad that Skinny Pete and Badger were given this chance to shine. I feel like they can be easy to overlook in the series, but they serve such an interesting role-to me, at least-as a sort of marker to how far Jesse’s gotten from his innocence, and there’s so moving about how they never turned on him or really abandoned him. Even as they got yo this place where they didn’t really fit with the nightmare of Jesse’s life anymore.

I always loved the scenes with these 3 and this was a great way to bring it to a close. When Pete calls Jesse his "hero", it was more of a bittersweet moment than it was a happy one. Jesse, understanding what he's done in the past was wrong, feels very guilty and remorseful in not only himself but also to all those around him that got affected. To name a few, look at Jane and Andrea who got affected, albeit indirectly, by his involvement with drugs, the motorcycle kid who was shot by Todd to eliminate witnesses and even Brock who was poisoned by his associate/mentor, Walter. Where Jesse may feel a sense of appreciation due to his friend's loyalty and admiration, he understands they must NOT follow in his foot steps which he has come to understand will lead to an unfruitful life. Look at what the drug trade has ultimately left him in the end; being ostracized by his entire family, never seeing his kid brother again (arguably the only member of his immediate family whom he truly loves). The perfect example to end this off is Combo, one of his closest friends who got killed while working for him. Truly, Jesse does not want Pete nor Badger to end up with the same fate as their friend, a friend whom he regretfully lead down a destructive life.

Got to love this last bow out for these characters. It's as much a goodbye to Jesse as it is to the audience. And this is a masterclass in how to do this shit right. (Looking at you, _StarWars_ ) We were all cheering in our mind when Skinny Pete and Badger saved Jesse's ass. Also got to love the fact that Skinny just had this shit ready to go on the drop of a hat. The man is an interesting character, much deeper than he appears. Remember that scene where they went to the music store to get those big containers for the mobile-cook lab? Skinny was playing piano like a motherfucker in that scene. So this scene is not at all out of character for him. It implies that Skinny has a good brain on him, and probably had a decent education at some point in his life. I can imagine him growing up in an upper middle class family similar to Jesse, and like him just not fitting in and ending up involved in drugs. But unlike Jesse he doesn't seem all that bothered by it. He seems more accepting of himself and his life. I like to think that Skinny made a more conscience choice to go this route. Jesse was always tormented by pain and guilt for not living up to his parents expectations of him. Jesse always saw himself as a disappointment and a loser. Skinny just doesn't seem as frustrated and tormented by it.

Same here. I only had ONE true friend, when I was 17 to about 23. I got sucker punched, and jaw broke when I was 19, by a guy that I was good friends with in school, from 6th grade to 11th grade. He turned against me for NO reason. All because he made new friends, and didn't give a shit about me anymore. Once I got to the hospital, my best, one true friend, met me there, took one look at me, and he immediately called the guy that sucker punched me, and told him, and his friend's to meet him somewhere. Once he met up with them, they all 3 tried to pepper spray him, and jump him. But he beat ALL 3 of their asses, and made the guy that broke my jaw, cry like a little girl. Even the witnesses told me about it. Unfortunately him, and I pretty much lost touch a little later in life. Friend's like that are hard to come by these days.

What are you talking about? Breaking Bad has arguably the best ending of any show ever made; the final shot of Jesse screaming in triumph despite the anguish, torment, scars, and burning rage in his face was particularly moving. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed El Camino, but im still against this cycle we're in where things cant be left alone to the audiences imagination (Star Wars, Terminator, Alien franchises for example). The people who dislike the film probably appreciate Breaking Bad TOO much.
