This was really helpful. So glad I found your channel. I just turned sixty, also skin obsessed, and while I have a few skincare influencers I follow, not many are close to my age and are not doing Botox or other medical treatments. I think it’s amazing to have those options, but they are not something I can do. Your taste in product is fabulous. Also, half of my heart is in Dublin; my son and daughter in law and two grandsons live there. I visit every year and will be there in a few weeks. Going to find the Irish brands you talk about! Great suggestions! I love your skin washing demo, I’m always trying to figure out the best way to wash my neck and chest on nights when I don’t take a shower without getting my entire body and the bathroom soaking wet. 😊 I am going to start incorporating ZIIP at night. It just isn’t happening with any frequency in the morning for me. Question about the program you said you signed up for with ZIIP with the 30 different treatments. I am only aware of the treatments they have on the ZIIP App and although they seemed new and fun when I first bought the device, I’d be nice to have some new treatments to play with.

Hi Martha, on the app, at the bottom you can choose treatments (on the left) or plans (on the right). I do the 30 day treatment plan so every day is different. I just keep doing it again and again 👍

I have a bottle and I'm seriously concerned about what I'm going to do when it's empty. I DO think growth factors are effective and it's an option to try less expensive ones. I haven't yet, but will definitely look around...

Is the tretinoin effective when used over the top all those other products? I've been so confused when trying to learn how to use it. I'm torn between the idea that it should go on clean dry skin with moisturizer over it and only use the number of times per week that I can tolerate it or just putting it on over moisturizer and hoping that it works that way and then I can use it more times per week. There are some people that believe you will never get the full benefits unless you use it on bare skin because that is how the manufacturer tested it originally. I don't know what to do!

If your skin can tolerate it on dry skin, then go for it! I've used tret for about 8 years and had to stop because as I increased the percentage (I got up .1%), my skin suffered. I stopped all retinoids for about 18 months because I needed to reset my skin and slowly build a routine that didn't aggravate it. My understanding (or the approach I take anyway) is daily use is better than sporadic use. And the way my skin tolerates best is when layered over other products. Sandwiching is quite common - using moisturiser first - to minimise irritation. If my skin is irritated, then I stop whatever I'm using. I could easily stop prescription altogether and use retinaldehyde instead (which I may still do), by my skin is doing great so I'm sticking with it. You need to do what's best for YOUR skin. There is no one-size-fits all.

@SkinObsessedMary thank you for your thoughtful reply! I'm 51 and I had oily skin until the past few years. When I use tretinoin I do get flakes more often and so I try to only use it once or twice a week. I can't afford it myself so my mother-in-law gives it to me and it's the highest strength 0.1. I use the sandwich method too either with a serum or moisturizer and always moisturizer on top. For me since my skin is really going through a big change right now with menopause I really want to get the most benefits from it as possible but at the same time I know but it's very strong and can damage your skin if you're not careful. Have you ever used nuface microcurrent device or Skinedica TNS Advanced serum (human growth factors)?

It used to be really irritating for me too. Just stick with whatever works. Since I've moved it to the end of my routine, I don't have any irritation with it (so far anyway)
