One of the best things about your videos John, is that I feel like I’m out there with you & afterwards have an urge to go rinse off my fishing gear…😁👍

Love these vids John. The last one inspired me to go give it a crack. Did a 9 hour session in the kayak. Got hit by 3 jacks and none stuck, so no fish to the net, but one of my most memorable days of fishing. This style is so addictive. Once you start getting the tactic, it opens parts of water you never would have dreamed possible to get a lure into. Thanks for all the awesome tips.

John you are fantastic, as I’ve said before I am a my pure box groupie, you have no idea how much we appreciate these videos , from lockdown here in Melbourne . It’s absolutely agonising not to be able to get out and fish , as pathetic as that might sound. These videos become so much more important. Thanks again, unfortunately we don’t have jacks but we live in hope. Stay safe all of you. Geoff

Great video. This season I have changed over to baitcasting reels even for my flathead fishing and I have found my catch rates increasing because of their accuracy. My question to you is have you ever tested if a lure on a line looks different on the retrieve using a baitcaster over a spin reel?

Tried some of this stuff up the baffle the on there day with no love on the jacks unfortunately bat as I was burning it back to the yak a flatty fully launched himself out of the water to get my lure which was really exciting so I reckon I’ll be doing a bit of top water flatty aswell pretty soon.

M8 another great vid exactly the reason i got in to it but m8 u gotta stop making it look so effortless. Definently the best there is m8 what a legand!!!!!! Have u thought about going to a manafacture and desighning ur waighted ewg weedless hooks and starting a pool with ur fans and buying like 10 -15 000 of them and splitting up the cost accordingly i no id be in for it and who knows u might just find the cost like 25-50cents a peice which would make it well worth it but hey just a penny for ur thoughts. Anyway johno keep up this amazing content and who knows we may just meet on the water👍👍👍👍👍👍

What is the best time for mangrove jacks, high tide or low tide, new moon, full moon, last or first quarter?
@mylurebox4 жыл бұрын
Hey mate. I’d love to give you the answer but in honesty, I’ve learnt to find the bites across the board and things I used to wait for only meant I spent less time fishing or catching fish waiting for an ideal. Big tides over hot rocks, low tides around run off drains, small tides in a main river and big tides at small squeeze points etc. there’s a fish on the bite always. Just gotta go find him :)

Love the content John! I'm just getting into kayak fishing and I'm wondering what ramps or launch points you are using to get up into the back of these systems (nerang, tallabudgera and currumbin). Cheers and keep up the awesome work!
@mylurebox4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff. I’ll put something together for you this week to help you consider some stuff for getting going. I generally just cruise along the roads beside and get in wherever I can up the back and then try to start working my way back from the tops. The duck pond up the back of Currumbin is a great spot for a kayak out in and fish downstream from there. Might be a bit dirty this week but boy it’s gonna fire once things start to clean a tad.
