[SPOILER] If you go to alt!Chloe's computer in episode 4 of season 1, you can see that "Pisshead" is one of the bands playing at "The Black Attic Club" (which I assume is some sort of music festival/ gathering), so I like to think that Skip left Blackwell to become famous :)

Actually you can get the same interview some time later even if skip is not at blackwell anymore and he still says the job at blackwell is a necessary thing to do even tho it seems like its holding him back etc. but he is jobless and that we know from the one post on one of the PC's (Dont know which one).
