The Ben Simmons drama in Philadelphia has taken another turn. Yesterday, Simmons was kicked out of practice after he refused to participate in a defensive drill, and the team suspended the guard for tonight's season opener because of it. Joel Embiid did not mince words about his teammate afterwards. Embiid told reporters he hadn’t talked to Simmons and quote: 'Our job is not to babysit somebody... and I'm sure my teammates feel that way.' Embiid is a personal glory seeker willing to take all the accolades and backstab teammates by publicly shaming and placing all the blame on someone else. While he is the better player, he is not the better teammate. Simmons last year playoff field goal percentage was 62.1% to Embiid’s 51.3%. Assist to turnover average (net) Simmons +3.5 Embiid -0.4. Their playoff plus minus was close to equal with Embiid +121 and Simmons +113. These stats happened while Ben was not at his best and focused on what he could best contribute which is defence and getting his team involved by passing. Remember Embiid was swept in the first round the year before without Simmons.

The only thing that had the Sixers in the game in the first place was Ben clamping Trae on defense and having 13 assist.
