As a Broncos fan, DT was one of my favorite players to ever wear the orange and blue; one of the few bright spots from the McDaniels era. He can also be looked at as a comeback success story considering he had an Achilles tear in his first or second year, and bounced back to have an incredible career.

What makes this even sadder is, violence, drugs or anything related had nothing to do with it. These days you’re just used to athletes getting killed or being in moments that involved any kind of crime. But no…an accident caused damages in his body that it just couldn’t take any more. One of my absolute favorite players and human beings. Thank you Skip and Shannon for this. What Shannon said really hit home. He had two months to reach out. He never could have known this but I really relate. My great grandma has several grandchildren and great grandchildren and out of all of those, she made me feel special. I knew for a while she wasn’t in the greatest of health. She was 96 years old, but I kept pushing it off to go and see her or talk to her. She called everyone by their names but I was her “movie star.” Now she’s gone. I just hope she knows what she meant to me, as I’m sure DT knew how much you cared Shannon. Rest In Peace DT. 🧡💙

It’s true, you can play those what if’s over and over in your head but it only will tear you apart, I know this from experience. I’ve learned this, death is the one true equalizer that every single one of us will have to face it at some point. No matter how rich or poor or how young or old we all have our time. I met DT when Denver drafted him and he was a rookie, he was quiet and humble and a genuine human being who gave a lot to the city of Denver. I think DT was too good for this earth and now his spirit lives on in a better realm.
