Former Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has passed away at age 33. Thomas, a former pro bowler, was best known for his time with the Broncos, including his electrifying overtime catch and run against the Pittsburgh Steelers that ultimately led a Super Bowl win in 2015 alongside Peyton Manning. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe remember the life and legacy of Thomas.

As a Broncos fan, DT was one of my favorite players to ever wear the orange and blue; one of the few bright spots from the McDaniels era. He can also be looked at as a comeback success story considering he had an Achilles tear in his first or second year, and bounced back to have an incredible career.

What makes this even sadder is, violence, drugs or anything related had nothing to do with it. These days you’re just used to athletes getting killed or being in moments that involved any kind of crime. But no…an accident caused damages in his body that it just couldn’t take any more. And I’m not trying to say I would’ve preferred it happened like that. Just the age man. 33. This is sad. A champion, and a humble dude. RIP Legend.

One of my absolute favorite players and human beings. Thank you Skip and Shannon for this. What Shannon said really hit home. He had two months to reach out. He never could have known this but I really relate. My great grandma has several grandchildren and great grandchildren and out of all of those, she made me feel special. I knew for a while she wasn’t in the greatest of health. She was 96 years old, but I kept pushing it off to go and see her or talk to her. She called everyone by their names but I was her “movie star.” Now she’s gone. I just hope she knows what she meant to me, as I’m sure DT knew how much you cared Shannon. Rest In Peace DT. 🧡💙

It’s true, you can play those what if’s over and over in your head but it only will tear you apart, I know this from experience. I’ve learned this, death is the one true equalizer that every single one of us will have to face it at some point. No matter how rich or poor or how young or old we all have our time. I met DT when Denver drafted him and he was a rookie, he was quiet and humble and a genuine human being who gave a lot to the city of Denver. I think DT was too good for this earth and now his spirit lives on in a better realm.

Man this hit hard when I saw the news last night. I’m only 19, and although DT isn’t an all time great receiver, he was one of the best of his time and one of the best I saw growing up. One of the most underrated dudes we’ll ever watch play. Fly high DT 🙏🏽

For a whole generation, DT, Julio Jones Larry Fitzgerald, and Megatron were so remarkably talented (that as a huge fantasy football fan, I'd make sure I had at least one of them on my team)

This is sad to hear. I’m only 32 and seeing a lot of people die around my age is scary. Specially someone who was healthy throughout his life

Totally agree. Break tradition. Put him the Hall of Fame with the new group this year. A special addition

DT was with my JETS for 1 season but in that season he was our offensive captain! This man was a great leader, person, mentor and role model for the community! Praying for his family, death never comes easy!
