I got my CT 2 months ago and it is without a doubt the most fun, fast, super quite, amazing handling, turning and more vehicle i have ever owned or driven. It is like driving a spaceship.

Congrats on your Cybertruck. Yep it's a true spaceship. I am still not sure how useful it would be as a truck but it is certainly a really cool car to drive around and gets a ton of attention.

Thanks for your reasonable and serious review. I’m the type 2 - I will get one because it’s the future. I am tired of same old all over again. To me the cabin looks really great and the rest is just the future in all its flavors.

Alright good to hear. Yes if you are open to new stuff then this truck will amaze you. I think overall it's a good execution by Tesla, and not messing up anything majorly. I did see here and there typical build quality issues but the best part is that all the tech in the car works well and it does have very unique driving experience.

I have had a Reservation on the Cybertruck Dual Motor since July 2020 and I will still have to wait another 2 - 3 years until Tesla catches up to my Reservation Number. I bought a 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD which I received on June 23, 2023 and absolutely love this SUV. I make excuses to drive this incredible vehicle all the time and now have 20,000 miles which is unheard of for me. I normally drive 10,000 or less per year. I'm also a local resident and drive many of the city streets, canyons and freeways as you do.

Thanks for sharing. Cybertruck is certainly in a very high demand right now and for many it proved that people will keep their reservations. Seeing so many of them now in LA

In my opinion, all pickup trucks are ugly, and uglier is better. So, Cybertruck wins.

I got invitation for the foundation series but I will wait for standard (dual motor) one. Do not buy first 2~3 years of completely newly released car.

I also think once this backlog and hype goes down we will see the real pricing. Also paying for Full-self driving when even basic lane keeping assist is not active is kind of wrong.

A great review all but for zero discussion of the crash worthiness of the vehicle. These have still not been independently crash tested and Tesla's in house results from their testing have not been published. And if you refer to the recent article in Elektrek, following a significant frontal collision, you'll see why. This vehicle has virtually no crumple zone. Tesla has nurtured a well deserved reputation for occupant protection, one which they have boasted of, and now this? Why aren't reviewers bringing this to the market's attention? The absence of a progressive crumple zone in a modern vehicle is a major design flaw and one with deadly implications.

Thanks for the input. In my videos I focus on driving dynamics, more specifically on "How does a car feel to drive" by doing more extensive test drive versus what most people would do is 5 minute test drive around dealership block. As for the crumple zone Tesla basically says it exists but in more unconventional way where the under body of the front is designed to break apart redirecting energy away from the occupants. To me also looks like a grey area until it's properly crash tested and confirmed.

Tesla says it does have a crumple zone, they extensively crash test their cars, and for every other model, they have leading crash safety ratings when tested. Hard to imagine that approach changed.

@@Abebe345 You'd like to think that their approach hasn't changed with regards to occupant safety. Tesla has built a deservedly good reputation for occupant safety. But having seen the video of the in house testing (no data supplied), and having seen the vehicle in Elektrek with its airbags deployed despite virtually no frontal deformation, I'd suggest that their approach has changed with this model. Given the fact that neither the IIHS nor the NHTSB have tested these vehicles is telling, to say the least, also. But, according to Jason from "Engineering Explained", at least it comes with a transfer to advise occupants that it has not been formerly evaluated, so you can make your own choice as to whether you want to take the risk or not. So there's that, at least. It might be bullet proof, but when (if) this finally gets properly evaluated, from what I've seen so far, a lot of people are going to be in for a very rude awakening. Hopefully that wake up call comes before a preventable fatality or serious injury.
@Abebe345
@Abebe345 3 ай бұрын
@@davidbrayshaw3529 You are making rather large speculative assumptions imo. You certainly haven't seen their full testing regimen unless you work at the company. Airbag deployment doesn't mean crumple zones don't exist. It's impossible to reach any conclusions without hard comprehensive data, but what is known is they do extensively crash test their vehicles and build fhem accordingly with the result that they lead crash safety ratings when later tested by both European and US agencies. Their safety didn't arise from any feedback from those agencies. To assume their standards, processes and application changed for the Cybertruck is unfounded. It has gone through their crash testing process in development, and Lars, their chief engineer has even discussed it in one of his interviews how the crumple zone works in the Cybertruck. It will be good to see how this product performs when tested by the agencies but I don't see a reason to speculate beforehand. Your original declaration of no crumple zone is unfounded.

Back seats are sweet with really nice head rests. Most trucks have shitty back seats. Even my F159 King Ranch didn’t have nice seats like that! And that truck drives itself. Nothing better than that. Nobody knows unless they know! If you have a Tesla you hate driving and old ICE vehicle ever again.

thanks for sharing. The thing is older trucks have their charm as well. As much as I did like Cybertruck I still like that strong engine sound and feeling all that power on this rocky chassis. I think we should have certainly both options available.
