I prefer smaller designs, my wrist is 7”25 and the 54 looks absolutely perfect on it. I like when a case does not take all the available space on your wrist, I find it more subtle and elegant.

I just bought the BB54 and my wrist is a hair bigger than 7”. So refined with its size and i much prefer the bezel. Similar to what you said in your 37mm longines spirit video, smaller watches are more refined…..even for folks like me with sizable wrists

The silver triangle in the BB54 is misaligned, or is it because of the lume pimp being misaligned? Terrible detail for such an expensive watch. I couldn't believe my eyes when a few watch enthusiasts gathered a few months ago in Madrid and I witnessed something beyond the urban legend. My 54’s pip is also slightly off center to triangle, but only noticeable under macro, so not going to sweat it. I love the 54 as the most homage of the homages, and will keep it for that reason. But this video has convinced me to also keep my 58! 😊 P.S. my San Martin vintage 36mm Explorer is my favorite beater and excellent in its own right 👍🏻

I like the 54 a lot more. I don’t like the gold accents on the bezel of the 58 too much. The silver markings on the 54 and classic overall look I think just works. Love the slim case too. Just wish they made a 41mm or 39mm with the same aesthetics as the 54 or even the Black Bay Heritage colorway.

My Tudor preference is the Black Bay M79230B-0008 41mm with the white hand set, and matt blue anodised aluminium Bezel insert for a little color. I Prefer the slightly bigger size. STILL has the retro signed crown with the Tudor rose, Domed sapphire crystal, and Rivet bracelet... A modern / retro look(LoL), the best of both worlds.

Still thinking about swapping them out maybe one day but the snowflake are a good approximation. I don’t think Tudor could ever get that close to Rolex without losing their identity. I was surprised Rolex allowed Tudor to be this accurate to a vintage sub as it is

The bb54 looks more elegant with the proportions and the bevel on the case is a very nice touch. Finally the bracelet is a big upgrade. The t fit clasp is better than what rolex has. It is spring loaded rolex bracelets are not. Not sure if the bb58 has ceramic ball bearings in the clasp also.

Tudor is Rolex. Just like Toyota is Lexus. You can't say the Lexus 300 ripped off the Toyota Camry if they are the same company. Tudor actually had blueprints to some models before Rolex did. Also, it's a dive watch. Dive watches need to be legible diving, hence the hashes in place of numbers. That why dive watches always have the triangle at 12 o'clock. To make it easy to orient the watch. From watch geko: "The bezel on a dive watch is generally referred to as an ‘elapsed time bezel’ but this has a few features that set it apart from a normal elapsed time bezel. The first is that at the 12 o’clock marker (usually a triangle) there is a luminous 'pip' or 'marker' so that it can be seen in darkness." The pip and the hour marker.

The silver bezel markings and gilt dial clashes a bit too much for my taste on the 54. Also prefer the matte black dial opposed to the sunburst. I do like the lollipop seconds hand though. And obviously T-fit clasp is nice. 58 still wins out in the end for me.

The red at 12 on the 58 mimmics a rare vintage submariner model (6538) which to me is taking it too far. Same goes for the gilt on the bezel. I have yet to see an actual vintage sub with «gilted» bezel, and I have owned two. To me the 54 stays more true to how a vintage watch would age and doesnt overcommercialize special featues from rare models

It's not a copy. Same company and it's their blueprints also. Read the history of the 2 companies. Like a Toyota isn't a fake Lexus. Also, Homage watches, (like Steinhart and San Martin) are just fine if you are not a snob. Well made. There are only so many designs that sell. Go to Seiko, or Orient, or Casio, or Tissot and on and they all have models that resemble Rolex dive and GMT watches. A "copy" though is outright fraud and illegal like those Chinese fakes.

A)The BB58 is not skinny, B) The 54 is more future proof. The red triangle will in the end bore you to death on the 58 C) proportions are much better on the 54 D)the T-fit clasp is poorly executed. It will start to slip in time

I put the Tudor BB58 blue, FOIS, SLA043 and Longines Zulu Time 39mm under an HD optical scope by Keyence. Best dial and hands finishings is SLA, not too distant are FOIS and Zulu, and a very distant dead last is BB58, its hands finishings, especially on the edges were pretty bad... So I am not surprised to see BB54 bezel lume pip misaligned.

I have a 7.25in wrist but my arm and wrist is vascular (not fatty/baby fat/shapeless) so even a 37mm or even a 33mm nomos looks fine and sexy on my wrist. I dont think a watch less than 38mm is well suited for a fatty wrist as it just makes arm and wrist look like a sausage with a strap tied around it.
