The big thing for klay is that the difference between lebron and luka is that even if its roleplayers that loses mavs a game, or kyrie or whoever, Luka will always take the blame, will always say that HE needs to do better. He is like a captain in soccer, he is the leader, got the responsibilty and takes the teams blame on his shoulders. Think thats one of the reasons roleplayers and even kyrie do so well on mavs, and are not afraid to take shots and expand their game. Take exum, known as a useless shooter, luka says if open u shoot, u wont be blamed, and the dude shoots 40%+ from 3 during RS. DJJ and PJW isnt amazing shooters, but they shoot if open cause thats what luka wants. Sometimes they shoot good, sometimes bad, but if they dont take the shots they will be gone like delon wright

I think the Lakers hiring a rookie coach made a big impact on the decision and also that the Mavericks went to the Finals and their 3 point shooting was horrendous. The Mavericks need Klay Thompson and that goes a long way.

Skip, the issue with the sign and trade was the Warriors want no part of D’Lo, been there done that. They couldn’t wait to get rid of him the first time so much so that after signing him to a 4 year max contract they dumped him on Minnesota after just half a season. The Laker trade was never going to happen and Klay had no way of going there as a free agent because LAL is capped out. So Dallas or maybe Orlando were Klay’s only two choices.

SKIP, THE 2014 FINALS WAS THE BIGGEST MARGIN EVER BECAUSE THE AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT AND LEBRON CRAMPED UP WORSE THAN EVER WITH THE HEAT DOWN 2 POUNTS WITH 4 MINUTES LEFT. Klay went to Dallas because he wants to win a title. The Mavs just went to the Finals. The Lakers was a playin team and lost in the first round of the playoffs. They didn’t get any better and LeBron James will be soon 40. Maybe he retires after the next season and Klay is stuck there three more years with Anthony Davis and a bunch of not so good role players? Klay is smart. His chances in Dallas are far better.
