for the ones too young to remember "Gestapo Bob Harris" refers to the host of the BBC Old Grey Whistle Test music show, "Blaster Bellamy" is probably bearded TV wildlife guy David Bellamy, Ramperpo - Rambo, not sure about the rest. My generation used to pronounce "Arbites" as though it rhymed with "arc lights" so yeah myriad are the ways

Void figures are always useful; I picked up a couple of Mordian Iron Guard figures because they look like the dress uniform of a police unit serving alongside Arbites

Rogue Trader allowed the use of many old citadel models under differers guises. There were almost no figurines at the start. The Arbites was some simple fluff to allow the Judge models to be used, like they were in playtesting at the Design Studio.

So glad they brought back this faction. Also in the Cain novels it gets pointed out multiple times that he often confuses local law enforcement with the Arbites and that there is a judge Dread series knockoff in the 40K universe called arbitrator morose.

@@oldhammered I have "Rogue Trader" and "Deathwatch", they are both well-presented. I love that "Rogue Trader RPG" is like the anti-Star Trek. The Prime Directive? Get paid, and make sure the Emperor gets His cut. RT has some really interesting character templates, Navigators, veterans if the Guard or the Navy, Mechanicus Explorators, rich ladies that have a fetish for cybernetic upgrades, there are a lot of cool things in the RPG.

@@oldhammered Wrath & Glory is the 40k rpg I have the most experiance with I the one I would recommend to new players as it can be played with any faction and part of the setting where as I would recommend the specialised ffg rpgs if you really want to play a more in depth experiance with a specific faction.

I do wish this troops were more flesh out and supported within the whole of the 40k. If you think about it they are the 1st contact and control against all the enemies of the Imperium. So many scenarios are just waiting to be played out.

I, too, have loved the Void sculpts for ages. Over 20 years ago I moved and had no one to play Void with, so I turned my Junkers into Arbites. I like their look a little better for 40k (don't like the samurai helmets on the guys you suggested). Anyway, I've pulled out the old metal sculpts and am getting the old gang back together!

The new Necromunda figures are simply awesome. One of the many cool things about them is that they are very comparible to one another for conversions( well other than the Eschers and Goliath that is).

I have an idea for a campaign, it would be like Arbites, gang fighters, and Planetary Defense troopers - perhaps using Stargrave minis for the PDF - backed up by a small force of Marines, against Genestealer Cults or Chaos. Like "Fight For Your World". It's more of an RT, KT, skirmish, small forces, lots of terrain, narrative thing.

@@oldhammered I've not seen the Warhammer Preview so I couldn't comment. I am an old English man who's only really interested in old hammer stuff so I would pronounce the word Arbites as I would pronounce the word Arbitrator, as in 'R-bites'. I had been pronouncing it as R-bites as well. Forced myself to say R-bee-tees for the video. It was a struggle! BTW, I think the Preview presenters were British, so we Americans didn’t do it! 😂

@@oldhammered nurr... I'm going to have to look it up now... I think Games Workshop is a company that survives and thrives with change, it has to keep renaming things and recategorising it's products to maintain an interest and encourage people to keep buying their stuff and for a company that been selling toy soldiers for the last 40 odd years, it seems to work!

I think the odd pronunciation is because 'arbites' is sort of derived from the ancient Latin word 'arbiter' (judge). Makes them sound very official and imposing I suppose :-)
