You know guys, I wasn't abused as a child growing up. I was very fortunate to have 2 good parents. They did divorce when I was 19 but I had already left home then. Watching this does bring up some heavy emotion for me though. I always did my best as a father to my daughter but bullshit meth & dope I allowed back in my life & she hasn't lived with me since the end of 2019. I can say that now I have finally arrested that addiction & have been clean since 2021 (I am on methadone program though) & have ran with the hand of cards I dealt myself. I work with troubled teenagers for a living now, I help run "relapse prevention" groups & just bought my first home, & also just got married. Maybe it was all a stroke of luck but I went with what was given to me at any given moment & had to do the best I could at it & not stop. Oh & btw guys to top it all off, my daughter is coming to live with me full time @ the end of the summer. 😊

Yes! 100% facts. I'm 29 and when I was a kid/teen I had a real close friend, almost just like this music video... his step-dad was literally so awesome, we all loved him. Played ball and wrestled with us all and took us places. Once in a while I knew he could get really mean if he was really pissed but it was rare, but as the years went on he got meaner and meaner. Started beating my friend and friends mom. I remember one day we were both 17 and we met up and his face was all bruised, his stomach and side was purple. Said his mom's nose was busted... well the next night he went and grabbed the families pistol. The step-dad was drinking, slapped the mom, she went out back to smoke a cig and my friend came down and said "why are you so mean, why do hurt my mom, she loves you, you're suppost to love her too". Step-dad started screaming at him saying it's bcuz they're both fcking stupid, and maybe if they were smarter and didn't mess up so much he wouldn't have to show them tough love, he chucked his beer can at my friends head so my friend pulled out the gun and said oh tough love, is this tough love enough for you, I guess the step-dad said something like oh you really want your beat down tonight huh... and my friend said nope I just want my mom to be safe from you, you're a monster and shot and killed him... I remember it so clear bcuz he came straight to my house told me everything that happened and was crying, not crying just bcuz he killed him necessarily. But also bcuz he couldn't believe that's how far it went to protect his mom, 17 years old wasn't even worried about him self. Just his mom, he did go away for awhile but not long at all, he's doing well. Him and his mom are super close, and I still see them every few days.. P.s sorry for the long comment and life story, it's just this video was literally like what happened to my friend, and we're practically family we've been by eachothers side since toddlers so this really hit home. Idk if I even want to show him this video tbh...

It's hard to find the words to describe this video it took me back to my childhood of being my "fathers" only stepchild I watched my mother get beat, tied up and a rifle shot at her below her feet while tied up at the bottom of the stairs and once he was done he always came after me and would hit me, choke me to dam near the brink of death and then let me breath and get my air back just to do it again. His favorite thing to do was throw me down the stairs and lock me down there for hours on end. The things I've seen and felt I wouldn't wish upon anybody thank you for standing for those of us who have been through hell literally your music keeps me at ease and reminds me none of us are alone I think I speak for alot of us when I say God bless you bro. ❤

32 years, being called every name in the book, being called a pussy and belittled all the time. After 32 years he was caught cheating. My mom never once cared enough about what I said or how I felt. Both once said they suffered in life, so can I. Last time I spoke to my mom she said she wanted to get my shit together. I let into her with what's been going on and they weren't the best role models. I'll probably die before I speak to them again.

@@AdamRodgers-t4k I’m not sure who you are or your name to call you but so I’ll say this.. We are all born sinners and all humans have souls unless if it’s sold before they have one. The devil wants us to feel lost and the devil wants to give you everything you want as you’re alive.. but what God wants for you is far greater than anything of this world. God gives us happiness in heaven and allows us to choose if we want to rest in heaven or be born again into a new life.. In this life, be yourself and for one second, close your eyes and ask for forgiveness of your wrongs and repent for your sins. Ask Jesus to come into your heart. Ask him to save you. You are not alone. All glory to God! Blessings from Ohio 🛸 Psalm 139:8: "If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there"
