I am a guy who uses 65$ tyres (225/45 R17) . Actually proved to be a lot more suitable for the type of roads and climate we have here in Serbia, by a LOT. Ive bought a Honda Civic 8 Euro with Michelin Pilot Sport and Dunlop Sport Maxx summer tyres. Those were fking terrible, first wet day, about 25 degrees C, almost crashed in the first corner because of understeer. These 120$ tyres are made out of plastic! If not used in extreme heat, they dont have any grip! The only good thing about them is they dont wear fast, duuuuh, its not rubber >) Not the mention the stiffnes and the incredibly uncomfortable rides. I blamed the suspension, but it was the tyres all the time. On the other hand, the 65$ Sava Intensa UHP2 is a great all around summer tyre. Much more grippier and comfortable than the expensive premium plastic competition you are talking about ...

another good tip is the downward facing tailpipe. It's amazing how much that swirls up the smoke or even such a pipe further up around the rear axle. I don't get the decat. Totally agree with your comment about power approaching 100mph. I had a 337bhp Supercharged EP3 Civic Type R. It revved to 8700rpm. However a casual in gear pull meant nothing to a powerful diesel car. I'd have to drop 3 gears to keep pace . Then around 80-100mph the diesel would hit a wall where the Civic was just getting into its stride. The diesel was probably in top gear. The Civic would do 100mph in 3rd. 120mph in 5th and a (not proud) 158mph in 6th with 500rpm to go and pulling. But yeah 50-70 , 50-80 mph the diesel had me licked.

If the package costs under or around 3k, is reliable long-term and keeps reasonable fuel economy that would be great. 6th gear on wifeys greenline is huge, 39 mph per 1000rpm, if it had another 70hp I reckon it would pull that gear another 15 mph. Was £600 to gut dpf/map out egr and remap. Was a bit disappointed with the bhp when they'd finished as I was expecting 200bhp+, however they said that as it's an older car it was probably only running about 150bhp. This was nearly 2 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat in that time, mpg is better than it was standard, maybe 4-5. I was a bit apprehensive about the mot but it sailed through no problems. Performance difference over standard is night and day, could not go back! Obvs things have moved on and it's not the quickest car around by any stretch but it's enough to be entertaining and 2 years on I'm still not bored of it. Hope this helps!

Currently changing the turbo on my BXE octy DSG estate I do kind of wish that I went for a bigger turbo but I’m after long term reliability and less chance of future issues, cars only got 101,000 miles on it so after the turbo went I felt obliged to go down the fix it route.... Just wondering if an EGR delete would be a good thing to do whilst I’ve got it stripped... 🤔🤔

I've recently got 7 weeks ago my 1st ever vw a 2009 1.9 tdi jetta. Its the 105 se so its my 1st automatic as well. I know its not the fastest. Or anything like that. But at some point I would like to maybe get a remap for a bit more bhp and torque. What are my best options. And does having an egr delete. Affect or cause issues come mot time. Any advice or help greatly appreciated. And also where is darkside developments located please.

@@ryanmusson3995 do you have the engine code? some of the late 1.9 PDs used to do that due to conrod bearing wear (bad quality/material from factory), I can see a CR do the same if the long life oil changes have been kept and it's been trying to do a DPF regen for long, were there any problems with the oil level rising?

Nice vid. Im getting a little old and have a fast TTS being slowly forged at the moment and will be running 500/550 in the near future. However, I grabbed a decent little Fabia VRS (05) as a run around and Ive fell in love with it. Enough to spend money on it. Im now doing exactly what you mentioned at the start of the video - suspension (ST coil overs), all bushings, drop links, arb, top mount bearings, rear stub axles and bearings, sorting out the handling - and the standard brakes are shocking! Do you guys at DS source the brake upgrades too - Mk1 TT, Octavia etc (312mm) replacements etc or is there a brand new cheap upgrade package, for example, like the Wilwood front calliper kit etc. What do you guys think is the best front brake upgrade for the money for these cars. They defo need them! When all this is done I may have you guys tamper with the engine a little if the price is right. I wont lie people say you are ‘dear’ but you defo know what you are doing and seem like an honest company. 👊🏼👊🏼

Plus a fabricated straight through exhaust and a pd160 intake and piper cross panel filter. Do I need the braided oil feed pipe and a new pd160 turbo to get a reliable 190/200? Thanks - as Im booked in for the first of November for mapping plus and I want to do this properly.

Thanks for reply lol. And since then the car is now 240 hp and 350 lbs. Love it. Never got it mapped with you guys in the end as you couldn’t get past your pride and ego of making such inane mistakes with the parts I ordered and never properly rectified the issues. I gave up. It went from bad to pathetic. I eventually got annoyed and frustrated - justifiably - and posted on FB asking for other peoples experience. You threw your toys out the pram and refused to map my car after I waited 3 months. Im glad you didn’t because Ive learned a lot in those months and met some great guys. Treat customers and criticism properly. Take care.
