Using 1.6 for 8 years now. Service cost is higher and it’s same for all cars anyways. But that’s still fine for the ride comfort and safety features. Touched 195 kmph once and my family did not know of it; so good is the ride quality. Sometimes wanted to change to other car but nothing matches it.

I'm using Rapid 1.6 TDI. As you said, obviously spare parts and maintenance is on the higher side. But, Skoda is something different. People who aren't prepared to spend money on German machines shouldn't opt them. Only people who value driving pleasure and safety should think of owning one. Though it consumes some time and money, it's worth it! It's much reliable when it's driven in the way it is to be. 8 years done and no looking back. 😃✌🏼

@Niranjan Pazhani Chamy Yes! We must have a reserve amount for sudden repairs. As the car gets old, we might have to replace it. Car maintenance wouldn't cost more than 15k for 15000 kms or an year. Only original parts cost more. And it's ok to get this rather than an alto or kwid. Very comfortable even in long drives even today. And as less technological parts are used, many parts don't fail easily.

Skoda Rapid Oct 2012 a stable,well built reliable car. Ofcourse as per the running milage we should spend for a genuine performance. Selling this car is not a matter but for a new car again need to spend 15 to 18 Lac for this capacity ofcourse latest many smooth performing inputs are available. But. Rapid 1.6 is still worth to own in comparing investment and stability cocern. Spares are stable so service costs^.
