ScoliosisCamp 2023 | Community spirit for participants with idiopathic scoliosis
*Successful first Pohlig Scoliosis Camp!
Brannenburg, 11 September 2023 - The ver.di training centre in Brannenburg was the venue for the first Pohlig Scoliosis Camp from 4 to 6 August 2023. 😊🌟
In an impressive setting that offered participants both informative and entertaining content, the education centre was transformed into a place of knowledge and community. The camp was specifically aimed at ten girls aged 10 to 15 who suffer from scoliosis, as well as their parents. 👩‍👧‍👧
The primary goal of this camp was to educate the girls about their condition in a warm and supportive environment. At the same time, the weekend was also meant to offer them a break from everyday life and provide moments of fun, joy and fellowship. This goal could be realised. The experts made sure that every single question the young participants had about scoliosis was answered competently and sensitively. ❤️
There was also an informative lecture for the girls' parents: Dr. Boszczyk gave an insightful presentation in which he went into detail about the latest surgical techniques on the spine. This made it possible to clarify many of the parents' questions. 👨‍⚕️💡
After the intensive and educational sessions, the girls were treated to a range of leisure activities. A special highlight was certainly the dance lesson with a professional dance teacher. 💃🕺 But painting their own ceramic cups and a short hike in the picturesque surroundings of Brannenburg also left lasting impressions. To top it all off, a relaxing yoga class ensured that the young participants were able to calm down and reflect on what they had experienced. 🧘‍♀️🚶‍♀️🌳
The positive feedback we received after the camp reinforces how indispensable such events are. The wish for a repeat of the ScoliosisCamp was expressed by many participants. Looking to the future, we hope to be able to offer many more young people unforgettable experiences through such camps. 🌟🙏
