22:03 There’s my home… behind that building in the right. I was born in Payson because they were remodeling the Springville hospital in ‘69. We moved to Heber when I was a month old, shortly after my grandpa died. My dad built three *Mr G’s Gas & Goodies* - two in Salt Lake and the one in Heber. My grandma (f) lived in Springville her whole life. My grandpa (m) lived in Salt Lake and my grandma (m) lived in North Ogden. We moved to Mountain View & Lyman, WY (Fort Bridger Airport) when I turned five and moved to Ogden when I turned 19.

Tim, I knew your Grandmother. I delivered the Ogden Standard Examiner newspaper to her and grew up directly through the block on Darling Street. I remembered your Grandmother had a lynx and it scared me to death each time I would go newspaper bill collecting in the late 1960s. She and my Mother were good friends. I know Gene.

Really cool video, Tim! I'm actually up in PV, but I usually just say I live in Ogden. I love walking 25th Street on the weekends and visiting Lavender Vinyl and eating at Craftburger. I learned a few things from your video, since I've only been in Utah since 2018. Ogden is definitely a neat place. Although I have my gripes with Utah and really miss Washington state, I'm glad I ended up in the Ogden area of all places in Utah. I just love the artsy, historic vibe in Weber County compared to other areas of the state.

I moved to Ogden in 2009. I have to be honest I was really nervous about moving here because I heard about it's bad reputation but because of my divorce it's where I could afford to buy a home. I have loved my time living here! I live in the historic area. I guess it's what you make of it. I have the best neighbors and we get together often especially in the summer for dinners. I have loved doing some volunteer work here. It was fun learning more about trains from the visitors around the world during the sesquicentennial of the transcontinental railroad, helping during the Home Makeover show and the farmer's market, Harvest festival and Christmas parade. I raised my boys in Sandy so it's great being as close to the mountains. I also like that it's close to SLC and on days that I usher at the theaters there I can take the Frontrunner and Trax to the venue downtown and back. The price of real estate is going crazy and we're seeing more people from SLC moving here. There are some really good restaurants and I like that in Ogden you may have the chain fast food places but otherwise it's local restaurants. Anyone that says we don't have good places to eat probably hasn't tried a lot. Some can be pricey but there's a good restaurant scene.

I lived in Ogden in 1961-63. Loved living out west, from the Detroit area. My parents started College at Weber State. The public school teachers were on strike, so my mom enrolled us in St Paul Lutheran Church School. on Harrison Blvd. We lived a few doors down from the Eccles Art Center (a house back then I think) and would ride our bikes to school each day and my mom would ride hers to class also. Lived at the old Mill Stream Motel for a month till we got a house on Washington Blvd. Then we moved to Harrisville Road in the country. We moved back to Detroit when Thiokol laid my dad off. I hated moving back, loved Utah.

Nice Tour around your city. I am thinking of migrating to USA and if so i need a place with real less ppl and much nature surroundings. I am from Germany, living since 20 years in the tropics in Thailand and it was enough heat for me here, so i need something to calm down and a place where they sale good beers ;) what i always wonder is how bad the streets looking in the USA. I was seeing it first when i worked in Detroit MI 12 years ago, you never see this in the TV series, except you are looking for it. If we had streets in Germany or even in Thailand like this, our population will get really mad :D :D have fun and keep up the good work, Ogden should give you a medal for attracting ppl ;)

I was one of the first 3 campus bus drivers in 1987 or so. Driving from the events center free patking to the campus. The busses were scary bad. You could smell the burning oil and I even had a battery crack and spray fumes everywhere. Lived in Ogden area for 30+ years. Still remember the officers club at DDO and 25th street when it was super scary. Ogdens come a long way, I miss it. Surprised cruising is back, it was big in 83 when I moved there, but cops shut it down in the 90s. PS you forgot to mention the Tiffany video filmed at the Ogden City Mall

Just want to throw out a couple more movies that have some history in Ogden. The gas station scene in dumb and dumber was filmed right where you started your video just off I-15 on 24th. Gas station is no longer there though. 3 o’clock high was filmed at Ogden high school, the big fight scene at the end they even invited a lot of students to be a part of. The sandlot was also filmed just off the Ogden river at the old rodeo stadium on 16th street. I always like to show those spots to people when they come and visit :)

Ogden high was build towards the end of the depresion it cost 1 million dollars to build it was seen as a new begining! The rail station kept Ogden alive! Then came DDO which was a millitary base! Now it's a business depot! Ogden has had a pretty big history! It has also grown with the times & changes in order to keep the economy working! Everwood my mom & step grandmother were actually in that as they were walking on 25th street that day! They have both passed away now! 💖💖💖💖💖💖

Anywhere you go, you can find problems. The experience you had, you were meant to learn and grow from. And I’m glad you did. Most people aren’t so lucky. In my experience, most of the people in Ogden are willing to help and reach out to the homeless, drug and gang communities, but for most of them, it’s a way of life. They were born into it, grew up with it, and will never leave it behind. It’s a choice, but Ogden is a different experience for everyone. You get more of what you focus on.

We now do not have enough grocery stores & most businesses have moved out of Ogden! Not many places to shop for clothes & things their all in Riverdale! But Riverdale is connected to Ogden! Plus you've missed alot on the north side of town? Lived here my whole life my parents have too! There's alot of change downtown from department stores to the Ogden mall to an outside mall! I was born in Ogden at the Old Dee Hospital on 24th and Harrison. I worked in downtown Ogden (First Security bank bldg) form many years. Sad thing, the jobs did not pay well, I ended up working in Salt Lake City for 30 years. Living in southern Davis county. I still have family in the Ogden area. I love coming back to Ogden and seeing how it has changed. It is growing up and now has a bigger population than ever before. It just needs more professional jobs and buildings downtown. I sure hope the new owner of the old bank bldg. can make it pop! Good luck Ogden.

I've been missing home pretty bad and this video really felt like I was driving around again. I was in Clinton Utah for 11 years but the housing affordability has become ridiculous. I had to leave the state but I plan on visiting again next year :)

Gosh, my sister lives in Clinton. Can’t believe all the construction going on! But not more water. I live in expensive San Francisco and it is shocking that the cost of living in Utah is catching up with us. That’s says a lot!

I drove through Ogden the last few years for a convention in Salt Lake City. Man the homeless people in Salt lake was scary. People trying to follow me on the streets, calling out. Ogden seemed like a sleepy Norman Rockwell town. Snowville to Ogden miles of cones as they were fixing the roads.

Thanks for the video. I'm moving up to the SLC area in May, and I was thinking of choosing Ogden. How easy is it to bike around the town? I didn't see many bike lanes in your video.

It's really easy. Although bike lanes aren't as plentiful as other cities you might be used to, Ogden has a decent biking scene. I go out and ride several times a week.

We moved to Pleasant View (North Ogden) in 2019. How come Weber is pronounced “Wee-ber” and not just “Weber” like it’s spelled? Just curious. I’ve learned how to say Weeber but after a year it’s still sounds off to me
