11:20 The reason -15% removed so many people is because it removed 1 group of people and your group size is very large. The customer percentage cards always affect the number of groups, not the number of individual customers.

I looked at the (decompiled) code (Kitchen.CreateCustomerSchedule). There are a lot of parameters that feed into the math and it is a bit complicated, but the simplified version is that various parameters determine a target number of customers for a day. That number is divided by the average group size ((min + max) / 2) to get the number of groups for the day. Then the groups themselves are individually randomized and added to the day. The resulting customer count is the count of all the groups added together. An an example, a typical game with group sizes of 1-2 might decide to have 20 customers one day as its target. 20 / 1.5 = 13 groups. This means that day could have anywhere from 13-26 customers depending on how the dice roll for the individual groups. If the next day targets 22 customers, there would be 14 groups and anywhere from 14 to 28 customers. So depending on RNG, the count could drop or jump significantly in a single day, but is most likely to gradually increase. Having larger group sizes means more potential swing in total customers per day. Some of the factors that affect the initial target customer count are: the current day number, whether it is overtime, all customer percentage cards that have been chosen, the number of meal courses (appetizer, main, dessert), and maybe more I didn't dig deep enough to find. This in turn affects the number of groups which then affects the number of actual customers. Then cards like rushes and after hours add more groups on top of that.

Also, looking at 40:00, I don't think your first grabber for coffee was set because it was always serving an empty cup. So your coffee was slower than it needed to be.

It takes an empty cup from the first machine and fills it up in the second machine. Your have to manually put an empty cup in the machine each time, which is why they set it up that way :)

Gratuity tips charged on a check is considered a service charge and is not in fact a tip. A tip in the eyes of the federal government has to be an amount that is freely determined by the customer, and cannot be an imposed percentage or amount. Gratuity tips are regulated differently depending on the state, but for most states, gratuity tips are not required to go to the server since it is not technically a tip, but is seen as a service charge for services provided.

oh, sorry I misunderstood. It is super strange that US and CA have a weird system where wait staff are under paid and have to rely on tips. It would make much more sense to have their tips be reflected in to the price of the food so that it isnt so variable, but I guess thats a cultural thing that isnt easily fixed. But yes I agree, the wait staff arent in charge of how any of that works, so screwing them over doesnt prove a point to the restaurant and just hurts the worker, so while auto gratuity on a party of 2 I have personally never seen and would think is strange, I would be tipping roughly that much anyways so it isnt really a big deal but I can see how someone would want to tip lets say 15% instead of a mandatory amount. Either way, tipping culture is weird
@a1yssa_raee
@a1yssa_raee 2 жыл бұрын
I agree. Auto-gratuity is annoying but complaining to the manager and then refusing to pay it is just rude to the person who spent an hour+ catering to you.

you guys never use belts to automate food delivery? you can run the belt next to the table, not directed at the table, or they won't sit. New update later today, will also bring teleporters and curved grabber belts ^^

Also, for those "mandatory"/"assumed" gratuity, they do expect that you still tip over that amount, which I find insane. Definitely double dipping. It's almost like they don't pay their staff enough and they're just trying to make extra money off you while their staff is the one dealing with your party. The tipping system is stupid and fucked. All of the "normal" people (you know, the actual customers)... but the "powers that be" are blind and, maybe, a little stupid/ignorant.
