The name of the country is North Macedonia, not Macedonia. In the 21st Century Countries and their citizens are expected to honour their signature (Prespa Treaty), it is a matter of self-esteem. The only place on this Planet named Macedonia is the Greek province of Macedonia, inhabited by a solid population of 2,500,000 Ethnic Hellenes. Furthermore, the attempt to usurp the historical heritage of a country's neighbour is both sad and pitiful. Especially so, when it is so self-evident: the Slavs arrived and inhabited the particular area 900 years after Alexander the Great, a Greek King of a Greek City State. In those times, Greece was not a unified entity, it consisted of many City States. Alexander managed to unite the Greek City States in order to finish once and for all with the Persian threat. Thereafter, he proceeded to spread the Hellenic culture to the then known World. Despite this, sadly, the inhabitants of North Macedonia have been indoctrinated since birth to believe that they are descendants of Alexander the Great. What can one say... One thing is for sure: this on-going propaganda is not to the best interests of North Macedonia. Nor will it bear any tangible results. Only gullible and illiterate people will believe this version of twisted history.
