I highly recommend the new rule book. The command dice can be achieved with normal dice if you need to, but the rule book is a must.

Is it compatibile with first edition? I bught it befor i run in some news about an second edition.

You won't need the cards from the first edition, but the models, terrain, mat, tokens, and whatnot are all usable!
