One thing I hate about US music scene is that it is usually dated by the time we get a chance to hear what was going on in the UK and abroad. Too much blockage on the charts to keep new music from entering/invading our listening space (30-40 somethings with money and older folks keeping things stagnant with crappy pop they like and sell to the younger people). Man was making beats when in middle school I was (2001). Damn! This is the stuff to use subwoofers with.

late answer, but listen to Untrue by Burial. that album is abslolutely amazing, and is a huge achievement in dubstep. the brostep producers took the nice, acclaimed subgenre and raped it, while milking every last drop of money out of it. the new music they produce since like 2011/2(skrillex and etc) is just violent soulless noise.

@Remix039 step reffers to the 2-step garage genre which dubstep emergates from, I think they added the step part because dubstep is using a half time drum pattern (I think it's because the first step is a kick and the second one is either a snare or a clap).

My personal opinion, skrillex is a good producer for mid range dubstep. It's the fans that give him a bad name, that think all dubstep tunes are lively and hardcore and then term this as "chillstep" even though it is original dubstep. Instead of hating on them its better to educate and hopefully bring more fans for this style. Dont hate the player, hate the game.

The evolution of music is great, it's because of evolution that we have the genres that there are today. The only reason I get pissed at "brostep" producers is because the genre that they are playing clearly isn't dubstep anymore, the fact that they evolved their sound is fine, but you can't drastically change something and say it still fits in the same genre.
@BreexEnthusiast13 жыл бұрын
@FIFAComedyOriginals its because everyone beats on skrillex for making such a different dubstep from skream and they just whine that skrillex is brostep and that skream is like the realest dubstep. i think theyre both awesome, and i wouldve died to see them at a show where they played together. saw posters for a skrillex concert where he played with skream and benga a while ago in my city and i felt shitty i missed lol
