awesome remake bro, earned yourself a sub! how did you go about the sub bass? or that rumbling bass to be exact. in theory it's completely explanable to me how skrillex did it but when trying to achieve it, it seems like i'm always missing a step or having an extra step somewhere. 😂
@MegaRealZex Жыл бұрын
I explained how I did it in another comment here, that is probably how skrillex did it but a lot more refined, also his kick sample probably had a more pronounced "bass note" than mine

how do you make the kick rumble like that?

Use a kick sample and shorten it a bit to remove the initial transients. Shape it a bit, pitch it, put it into a reverb convolver, distortion + a lot of eq, A LOT OF TWEAKING on everything previously said, and a sidechain. Depends a lot on the convolver preset and kick sample, and A Lot of tweaking as I said
@jayes_12 күн бұрын
@@MegaRealZex is the kick being used as the impulse for the convolver? if not what is or did you just pick presets til something sounded good
@MegaRealZex12 күн бұрын
@@jayes_ I used altiverb 7 for a lot of church/cathedral/theatre presets, they sounded the best from my experience (kick is only the input signal into the reverb). Also tweaking the parameters of those presets you like or feel like they have potential for a good bass. That's why you need a lot of experimenting and brute forcing to get a good sound, because the reverb, its settings, and the kick sample you feed through the reverb all change each others characteristics. And also, potential eq/distortion effects on top of that. Very important to use an eq to clean up the low end (you choose which frequencies to lower and which to boost, based on the desired result) and remove the highs after each distortion effect, while the mids are artists choice.
