SKRILLEX - CANADA LOVES SKRILLEX @ CONTACT 2013 - DAY 1

Just so EVERYONE who is wondering about the history of this song is clear: Skrillex made a song thought to be named "This Much Power" and dropped it on Skrillex's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. He played it out live for a few months mid summer of 2013. Then, in the Fall, Zomboy released two ep's, titled Reanimation Part 1 and Part 2. One of the ep's has a song called "Terror Squad" in it. It is a dubstep track that uses a very similar bassline as "This Much Power". Now, I love Zomboy, his tracks are sick as shit, but it has always been extremely obvious that he uses samples from other artists. If you listen to songs like "P.A.R.T.Y." and "Dirty Disko" (using samples directly from Skrillex's remix of In for the Kill) and "Deadweight" (taking samples from Centipede by Knife Party and only slightly altering them). "Terror Squad" displays an unjustifiable resemblance to a song that hasn't even been released yet by Skrillex himself. He was infuriated by this and in his defense dropped what everyone thought was a mashup at Hard Day of the Dead 2013 to get back at Zomboy for stealing his music yet again. This "mashup" consisted of a "My Name Is Skrillex" intro (to clarify that SKRILLEX is he who made the original bassline), a hook by the Ragga Twins that improved the hook from the original "This Much Power", followed by a "remake" of "Zomboy's" drop from "Terror Squad", and uses Zomboy's signature bridge that says "It's fucking Zomboy!" but Skrillex changed it to "It's fucking Ragga!" for a final kick in the face. Now, my guess is, he liked how this version sounded so much better that he eventually started playing it out instead of his original version at every show he has played since then, and uploaded a sample video of the track to instagram. This version is now expected to be released on his new album coming out this year. Before you guys call me a "hater" or make anymore dumbass biased comments. I own almost every track by both Skrillex and Zomboy and love both of their music. So let's stop fighting like lions over a carcus and enjoy the motherfuckin' bass.

Fk I just listened to Terror Squad and All is fair... and payed attention to the baseline AND THEY ARE THE SAME FOR REAL! listened to these songs for ages and never realized they were similar. Nevertheless I don't think Skrillex put "it's fuckin ragga", it's more like a laugh. this story is strange though because skrillex and zombie released that amazing remix of raga bomb after the album release, maybe they made peace or made the remix before terror squad was released
