I still have my Love Song cassette too, Cathy!!! I was impacted by their music way back then when I accepted Jesus as my Lord & Savior in 1970. And you are correct; the Holy Spirit's anointing is irrefutably evident on their music. The enemy can NEVER destroy it, steal it nor stop it. My husband & I are going to watch the movie this weekend (Jesus Revolution). Even in the movie clips, the anointing leaps out!!!

I played in a group called, ONE SPIRIT and though we wrote a lot of our own songs, we also covered all of Love Song's songs, which was a task, to say the least. I play lead guitar and sing, so I had to learn all of Bob Wall's guitar parts. These guys were the best of the best, especially in their time. We were fortunate to be commonly mistaken for Love Song, because we actually sounded just like them and our lead vocalist sounded exactly like Chuck Girard, so we were very fortunate. On top of that, it was probably the most magnificent time in my life and the Jesus Movement was exactly that. It was an amazing time to be alive.

Was in a small band in Little Rock in the eighties. One night our rhythm guitarist realized the progression for this song was the same as "Think about what Jesus said." When i heard it I was like... yeah... it is! Dude got two songs out of one progression. Kinda cheating! HAHAHA.

What blessed memories this brings to my heart...swaying together all down the rows at church as we laced our arms together and hands up to the Lord. Girls would sing angelic harmonies and Chcuck's tilted head at the altar listening and his 1 and only beautiful smile from God..The look on his face lit up the stars. I miss them all..so much it hurts

Love this song. We sang it in Aucklands Town Hall in 81' where church met. 2500 people gathered Dan Stradwick our Worship Leader had a beautiful anointing on him. He sang the verses gently, while we all sang the chorus. It was with great gusto & the build up after note change was explosive & so powerful. Such was the presence of Holy Spirit. And this caused us to Worship Jesus for well over an hr with no breaks. I thought the roof was going to take off. We had entered into God's Presence. It was Indescribable. I have never been or been part of another church like that to this day. Even watching tv christian programs. Praise God today, we can watch SBN & FWC.

When I firsf heard this and many times later, this song to me is pure beauty. I did not realize how old the song is. I always hoped the creators were young and in good health. When I saw him on an interview with his daughter, I was sad to see his age. Scripture gives us examples and promises that our youth can be restored. I was a Christian for 50 years. Now I only follow our Heavenly Father and His Son in the context of the New Covenant - a spiritual life in the Kingdom of God (ignored by Paul and Christians). Sadly the promises of rejuvenation and promises of a 1000 year life span. I hope we wake up to the realization of the promises and joy we ignore.
