You can get the Battle Junk in a couple of days grinding without buying out the pass, especially by farming Ti Lian Ning, convoys and plundering forts. Me and my 58 yr old Dad managed to get this yesterday. The only problem you may have is crafting the materials for the ship as some of these take an 1hr each.
