I'm a bit puzzled by all the warm shadow tones. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read that warm light creates colder shadows and vice versa...? Again, I'm not a color master but..

The problem with oils for me is that its a huge investment. Just looking at the paints alone that he used in the video, you're looking at $500+. That's usually why I'm afraid to use that much and usually want to do digital and project or grid it onto a canvas first. There's also the aisle cost, canvas and paint brushes.

obviously for the guy talking in the video, money it's not an issue. But only for the rest of us it's a big deal, I'm also afraid of using too much paint and running out too soon and then I'll have to buy more paint, it's not cheap!!

Interesting that your tint is the same kinda tone. Some artists I look for advice from use a contrasting colour especially when it'll be covered with impasto

If you're looking for a palette, a glass palette is GREAT! You can make it yourself, it's permanent, and really great to mix colors on. Easy to clean too, all you need is a window scraper that has a razor blade in it.
