Satchmo Solo is 100% BM. Getting a happy birthday into Satchmo solo and actually playing happy birthday will make everyone love you. Also the inputs for the music is the same input as an actual trumpet which is super neat. You don’t play Big Band until you have a few songs in your repertoire.

Here's some Big Band tips for you Nate (he's my main, so I feel qualified to talk about him): -Beat Extend (623p) is Big Band's main anti-air and reversal. The light and medium versions are hit invul, while the heavy version is full invul -you can cancel a whiffed SMk into Heavy brass knuckles ([4]6Hp), which allows the punch to hit full screen -just like Beowulf's Crairless cHk, you can cancel Big Band's jHk into a ground tech. This is useful In midscreen bnb's -Super Sonic Jazz (236pp) is one of the strongest level one super's in the game. It starts up frame 2, has 1 hit of armor throughout, and, if buffed by a taunt, deals huge damage and has 15 hits of armor -Big Band's cHk is a situational antiair against instant air dashes, AKA fillia (Just thought it was worth mentioning) There's a few basic tips I've picked up over time. Hope they can be of use

More random tid bits for you: -Big Band and Beowulf's sLk's first hit hits low. This is useful in mix ups for... Obvious reasons -Big band's Light brass knuckles ([4]6Lp) is safe on block and extremely useful in frame traps -all of Beowulf's normals that use Grendel's arm have 1 hit of armor -PEACOCK IS BULLSHIT!!! -Big Band can parry every super in the game accept for command grab supers (so Cerebella, Beowulf, and Fukua) -You can't throw tech while crouching. This allows for throw/low mixup as every character Zat iz all

I just got the game and I also had trouble figuring it out, but the secret to doing it was: After getting the trumpet out, STOP holding Mk and do the commands quickly. If you keep pressing Mk it just doesn't work. It's also much easier that way

how do you know when to have the right charge because I'm playing on switch and big bang is a cool character i and i want to know how to play him but all his moves seem to be charge and i can't even get through the first lesson 😅

It's a little strange to get used to, you just need to train yourself to be holding back or down+back as often as you can. Given enough time, you'll find it'll be second nature, but early on it's definitely tricky.
