I really enjoy the balancing in Skullgirls, because characters like Robo Fortune, Squigly, and Eliza who are widely agreed to be very much at the back of the pack in game balance, are still viable enough to get considerable rep at tournaments, even at Evo Online.

Yup! I love that the spots make sense and aren't really about the character being "weak" but rather like he said for Fillia, she's A until she touches you.

funny that peacock has consistently been the strongest, because canonically she was the only one who could defeat the skull girl without any help. and basically was never defeated even in most of other people's story modes.

i fucking hate it when tierlists, make up tiers like SS SSSS SSSSSSS SSSSSSS we all know they are just inflating the tiers, the top tier is always A and the bottom is F. even if you change the name we all know that the one in the middle is like B and by puting everything in S tier you are basicly destroying your credibility

I like Skullgirls balance because you can main a low tier and just make up for it by having the rest of the team be high tiers.

I don’t agree with Filia not being in S BUT I think it’s cool how you mentioned Painwheel was lower and for reasons I think were legitimate but also how she has some crazy shit going on. Tbh I think she wrecks Double which is a good matchup for her and the way she can control neutral with qcb.K is pretty good. The main bad thing about her qcb.K is that it converts poorly and you really need to work harder than most characters for damage

i stopped playing skullgirls a while ago, hardcore fortune main who always played her solo. why is there so much emphasis on assists?

They give you a lot of different options from neutral to defense, being able to mash a reversal and DHC into a safe super is very strong for example

I have some trouble trying to punish/getting away from Parasouls pressure when she uses her napalm shot, got any tips for me? Sometimes I feel like I don't have anything to do about it. Her most common blockstrings I don't know what to do are cr.lk cr.mk napalm shot / cr.lk cr.mp st.hp napalm shot

she has good assists though, this list only takes in account characters in solo. parasoul can cover for quite a few teams

She is no longer bad though Also, if you are not getting top 32 at major tournaments tier lists shouldn't matter to you that much, play whoever you want and enjoy the game

I'm curious as to the reasons Eliza is placed low. Being pretty new to the game, She seems to have a lot of strengths. Buttons look pretty solid, damage seems solid, curious whats considered bad.

It boils down to air buttons being not so great in neutral (hurtboxes extend before the hitboxes making it easy to hit her with any stray button/assist), high risk average reward for pressure (there are characters with low risk high reward, new skeleton made this one better though), and her defense being on the bad side, a bunch of characters can jump in on her and her sMP and dp will whiff, and you can grab her dp, her only true reversal is level 3

Pretty much dropped this when the DLC originally came out and they all got unique, broken mechanics like parries only they can use, omnidirectional movement allowed grabs, armor above the level of Cerebella attached to faster moves and even grabs, etc. Eliza aside it seems this continues to be an issue; those characters are still S tier and apparently got buffed. It was so fun before I didn't have to deal with dying in 1 grab and half screen wide armored normals that link into a level 1 (that hits like a level 2 because all the dlc characters get free buffs on every single knockdown).

started placing decently in tournaments a few years back, even got flown out to combo breaker, but life got in the way so I just played for fun for a while. Started doing well again at the start of this year, but life is here again lol

I am comeing from other fighters and watching videos about Skullgirls because it might be a game im interessted in. But after watching this video...well.... lets say it this way: I am less interessted in playing this game as of before watching it. Reason for that is that is that you made it sound like supports are such a big thing in this game so that you dont want to play without it. And i really really dislike stuff like supports and playing with 2 or even 3 fighters. I am more the 1 character kind of guy. So i guess Skull girls is not a game for me. Too bad, i really like the engine and netcode its running on.
