The "normal" version of Marie's theme encapsulates what seems to be an internal fight represented by her own self (tormented violins) and the skullgirls' influence (electric guitar). In this version, we can no longer hear those elegant violins... instead we hear furious, brutal bow attacks to the violin, and the constant speech of the electric guitar, almost mocking us with its dominance.

I feel like it's the opposite in terms of instruments. The violins represent the Trinity's order and their control, neat and tidy, like Marie. But Marie also has endless determination and fury and never relents. This song is Marie screaming out against that control, and finally taking the reins on her power

Kinda crazy that Marie was only released so recently. With the leitmotifs in this and All That Remains, plus her ending actually moving the plot forward, and being literally THE "Skullgirl" she feels like the actual protagonist of the game.

This was the most perfect finale we could have ever asked for. Watching Marie fight and defeat the Trinity to achieve true freedom and finally escape the strings that have controlled her fate for far too long. Bringing peace to every soul that's been in turmoil because of the meddling of the Trinity, Double, and the Skullheart for countless ages. This was the best story the game has offered and an ending that's given me peace and closure to this amazing saga.

I remember there being something similar in a book called Mogworld. There's a Necromancer, called Deadgrave, who raises a bunch of undead, but they aren't actually under his control like he expected, so he just takes them on as normal minions, and turns out to be a fantastic boss. He remembers everyone's names, listens to suggestions, as is never rude, trusting you to know how to do your job better than he knows how to.

@@fistpump64 They're very sloppily done regardless. They should at least have given egerts a new symbol. Some censorships are worse than how they began too. Giving Fillia black panties on white outfits makes them stand out more, and is something done even in real life? They may as well have just said she was 18, graduating that year, since that's how they treated her and dropped it. Not like she looks any different from Cerebella (18) or Squiggly who's like 29. Some story scenes are even more NSFW too, like that one scene where the monster has it's tongue wrapped around several captives. They just made the tongue longer and cover more of their privates. Your comment implies you genuinely just didn't pay attention to anything or have a low bar, and even I think Filia's changes are the least offender.
