When I saw that ThatGameCompany made a Sadist inspired trailer (which btw that Sadist animation is what got me into the game) I really wanted to see the two side by side. I love this game's community.

@@yukoissmol7051 TGC recreated SAD-ist animation/storyboard and NOT the other way around. That's why it is a "they" not a singular prounouns due to TGC having a team of people helping THEM in remaking the video.

It makes an amazing game trailer but I personally like Sadist's animation better, just because animation is a more flexible tool for these kinds of things than what Sky can do in-game. I also think that Sadist's animation is more subtle in movement and I like that better.

True because the part when the moth (player) was about to get hit by a krill (dark dragon) the animated one was a bit better.

Thats the remarkable thing. The fact that Sad-ist's animatic was so ACCURATE that you could even recreate it in the game is just inspiring!! It's a nice trailer for the game, but, of course, the way you can fluctuate the movements and emotions of the animatic is much easier than the in-game one. It does show how limiting it is xd Although I do love the ingame one where it had the krill eating the child instead of just being beside it and looking at sky kid ( 3:36 )

i love the remake but the sadist version just feels more alive you know? and the part where the one gets hit by the rock in eden is genuinely scary looking in the original one

Well its hard to recreate the same exact movements in game . This trailer was made for the PS4 Store btw, it plays in the background of the store when you look at the game to buy it (to buy any game, but this one is free) and most of PS4/PS5 games use gameplay trailers or the like for that (they also have a media page for other trailers games might have)

Both are amazing! Some parts are better animated (character expressions), and others are better rendered ingame (scenery), so I can't say which I like more.

They're both so well made, it's incredible. For me, the music is a bit too dark and gloomy for the default vibe of the game, and it does capitalize on the darker 20% of it. They're still amazing though, kudos to everyone involved in both productions, it really helped to get the word off Sky out there as well.

I think it’s amazing FOIL (going back to English class) the game is 80% positive and that’s what you see all in the beginning. It makes the viewer (if you’ve never seen sky) wonder why it’s so dark and creepy sounding while they’re showing a beautiful area. It really is just a beautiful area. Then it finishes off in Eden with the last “what a wonderful world” almost as sarcasm from the player from the end

Lex Derp True. I'm a huge Journey and SADist fan, though. And I now love Sky. When I first saw this trailer video from SADist though, it was pretty dark and dreary, so I actually clicked off it and forgot about it. Some time later, heard about Sky from different sources, started playing it regularly, and after a month saw TGC's trailer for it, it rang some bells, said to myself 'no way...' and went back to SADist's video. All because of the vibe, LOL

Both videos are good, but only the clip didn't have that smooth transition like Sadist at 1:47. Also, the krill attack is somehow not very good and the moment with the little prince is due to the fact that there is no prince himself, as well as other moments. But I think animation and clip are different things. The clip is how it would look in the game, and the animation is an artist's view, so they may differ slightly. So both videos are very beautiful, but personally I like it more from Sadist (this is just my opinion and everyone has it different).🥰

The artist made decisions to change certain things throughout it for the sake of a more dynamic composition, and I think some of hers actually looks a lot more interesting to look at, but that is my opinion.
