Her style
A bit Lolita-esque and a bit a femme fatale, Sky's style could me mistaken for that typical of many other pop girls in Los Angeles. Very wrong! Sky has something special and unique about her: a passion for old-school grunge and vintage and most of all, she knows very clearly who she is and what she wants.

With Portuguese roots but born and bred in California, Sky was a MySpace sensation. She loves to sing and it was after uploading on MySpace a clip of her own personal interpretation of Careless Whisper by George Michal that her talent got recognized.
Yet, she was determined to make it in the industry and featured in many music videos as well as starring as Jenny in the movie Putty Hill. Being very focused on her work, at the age of 15 she started promoting her music in Los Angeles's Clubs rather than wasting time getting drunk or play the "rebel" role. "I'm a professional singer and actress, I work hard to achieve my dreams and never wanted to be fooled around and considered a party girl only" she explains.
In 2009 her efforts get rewarded and she signed a record deal with EMI for the release of her debut album: "That is my strategy; I keep pestering people until I get what I want. So far it worked".

And here we go. In spring 2010, she released her first single "17" and a music video in which she stars wearing a leather jacket, too much make up, an intentionally carelessly arranged hair-style and looking very Lolita-esque. As provocative as Britney Spears in the early days (as a matter of fact, the producer is the same, Bloodshy and Avant), her look was sexy and defying at the same time. When all her fellow singers sang about allegedly platonic love, she dared describing clearly what teenagers are really like. Even though, as she explains "I do not really wish to write love songs as that would not be heart-felt since I really have little time for romance in my life".
Realizing how photogenic she was, fashion and music magazines like Jalouse Magazine, Nylon Mag, Purple, Interview and Dazed & Confused recruited her to appear on their covers and photo spreads.
Her first European single One was followed by Obsession which launched her in the US.
Her debut album is scheduled to be released in January 2011. "It is based on different sources of inspiration: adolescence, robots, my nightmares and insecurities. Musically-wise it is influenced by Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Alice Cooper, Nancy Sinatra and obviously Prince!". In the meanwhile, there are rumours that she is working with Britney Spears on a song to be released soon.

She is still working on building her image as a singer but has abandoned her torn tights and rock T-shirts in favour of more feminine clothes and mini-skirts. Still developing.

"I like wearing boots and Dr. Martens but also towering wedges and classy Oxford shoes. Recently I bought a pair of Chanel clogs. I'm also obsessed with socks of which I have loads!".

Studded, leather items and a silver necklace which I recived as a present from a friend and I wear all the time.
