agility made many of the larger gladiators look silly at gaunlet - you will remember wesley berry - you tube his gaunlet ;] the games on the show require power, speed, agility and to some extent specific strength for some events, like hang tough and the wall - gross strength isn't a key element - we are not powerlifting here....

Why all the negative ratings? I should be getting positive ratings! Have u been watching the same new Gladiators as I have? None of them impress me. No sportsmanship, not like the good old days at all. The old series is a million times better than the new.

infact it's very possible to improve strength values and not increase muscle hypertrophy greatly - many of the worlds top athletes are incredibly strong yet weigh 80-90kg for example - i know plenty of world class athletes who are capable of bench pressing more than 2X BW again for example... size and weight wasn't actually a major plus point for the old gladiators bigguns, your example is actually a poor one, as many pf the contenders blessed with great speed and

dude think about it, hes a former royal marine, size doesnt instigate strength or endurance and these guys have determination drilled into them once they start trainin so i think were gonna see some good stuff from him but jus keep in mind appearences can be decieving.

These new gladiators, male especially are much more oreintated for the speed, power and agility side and for a first series have done a really good job on the contenders. size and weight wasn't actually a major plus point for the old gladiators, bigguns....
