I have a friend who is really down on the industry right now. “This gen doesn’t really do anything new or impressive.” I told him I might feel that way but playing VR really does have that feeling to me. And there is nothing but room for growth where as flatscreen games have sort of stalled. Given the state of the AAA publishers I’m kind of glad VR mostly rests with smaller teams that seem to actually care.

Yeah we'll be like this for VR until the same people and groups who ruined 2D gaming finds money in VR gaming and end up doing the same thing. But, at least for those of us who are at the beginning of this ride with VR/MR/AR we get to see the rise of it all.

I’m 34 and loving the quest 3 and VR gaming! It’s a shame it’s still so underrated. There’s great stuff out there and the experience is so unique to any gaming we’ve ever experienced. And with “Spatial Ops” breaking new ground where you can play against each other in a physical play space and see each other holding digital guns and build your own maps; I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Yeah VR is still going to get bigger, maybe not with mainstream adoption but the experience is still cool! But we still don’t think it should be used too much for social media etc but definitely games have potential to be more experimental! Hope you subscribe and join the wise ones

VR right now is where 3D games were around 1997. Everyone is trying stuff, some succeed, others miss the mark entirely, but some things have been figured out, standards are emerging for how to do things. From here on out we'll probably see more and more refinement of systems, and an increase in the scope of games. 2024 was the year where we got a taste of bigger games, like Contractors Showdown for example. Huge map, runs on Quest 2, has great controls and was just all around a good game. Batman and Metro were solid polished good looking games that had systems that were well refined. Some games came out in the 90s and set the standard for how things should be done, such as Quake, which pretty much set the standard for how FPS games are played, and it remains so until this very day. Saints and Sinners and Behemoth are the golden standard of melee, they do things right and will be used as an example for other devs rather than them having to reinvent the wheel again. It's a great era for VR, and it's getting better year by year. 2025 seems like it could be a real banger.

I had the Virtual Boy and just got the Quest 3 (although been playing VR since the Samsung Odyssey+ headset). I am blown away by the Quest 3 and games like Asgard's Wrath (both games) and Batman. Did you play Behemoth on PCVR or standalone? The graphics look great!

I think it does right now we still have baby steps in the direction but it is way more easy to use and more accessible to people than it was 8 years ago. The tech has potential and the more mainstream it becomes the more support it will have and even now it has some really good experiences

@@Zzues With the Globular Cluster Kit the sweet spot is locked in so the fresnel lenses are a non-issue. Prefer the image of the PSVR 2 over the Quest 3 because it is so much more vibrant and the blacks add extra depth to the image. The image pops and I just feel more there and the world feels more 3D too. I prefer a little less clear but bright display over a clear but dim one. But I understand those that prefer clearness over brightness.

i have a quest 2 and I love it. however vr gaming seems to be still very niche, none of my friends care about it and stick to normal games. i think until graphics are photorealistic in a almost real world like gta, the majority of people wont care
