It's almost as if the instructor hanging on kind of perpetuates the out of control spinning.

I can't be certain, but I think the guy at 2:15 is me lol, if it was in San Marcos Texas it probably was. it was my AFF level 4 or maybe 5, fell out of control for like 5 k feet but made it on my back with 6k altitude left. I was trying to force it... turn to my stomach then arch my back ha-ha learned from that mistake and never did it again, I can't be certain but it looks verry similar and i remember the instructor didn't even try and help me.

Fucking amateur hour AFF instruction. There should always be a plan between the two instructors on level 1-3 about the Reserve side JM letting go if the dive goes to shit. Also, when the student is on their back, the easiest way to flip them is reach across their stomach to their harness and flip them, rather than try to muscle the grip; it only breaks your own position and causes you to further go unstable. Finally, a little tighter proximity flying would go a long way, I saw a lot of JM giving up and watching their students fall away.
