👇👇: Did you buy used gear, yet? What is your best place to look for used equipment?

Skydive Vibes that's crazy someone would buy used skydiving gear.. I believe my life is worth $6,000
@SkydiveVibes6 жыл бұрын
D.Nasty Fishing Well that price is for a used kit. One in good shape though. To go full new, you would need to approximate 10k!!
@d.nastyfishing60916 жыл бұрын
Wow that does get expensive.. I was looking at new empty containers, new chutes main and reserve . I am bad at math hahahah. Didn't add the alt.. googles helmet..
@SkydiveVibes6 жыл бұрын
D.Nasty Fishing Yeah and you need to consider an AAD as well. ;) going used is totally acceptable for your safety. You just need to find equipment in really good shape!

@@SkydiveVibes Thank you!! ♥ I currently live in Florida, so my home DZ is Titusville, but most people there also do their fun jumps in Sebastian & Deland (since Titusville mainly does tandems).

For those kinda strapped for cash would you recommend buying the components listed one at a time or would it be better to just find a used and assembled rig for one price. also which option will be cheaper? Buying a fully compatible used rig. Or buying it all in separate pieces.

Hello. I would be interested to know what size was your first canopy bought and what was your level of experience. I am on 210 only got 52 jumps. Feel good on 210 so my plan is to downsize to 190. the size I wanna buy is 170 so I can keep it for longer. I don't want to buy 190 and then find out I want to downsize 10 jumps later. Do you think it is a silly choice to buy 170 while I jump on with 210? Thanks
@SkydiveVibes5 жыл бұрын
I did jump a 190 for a while about 50 jumps and when I was ready I went down to a 170 which was my first bought canopy. Ask an instructor on your DZ, take a canopy course and then you'll have a good idea of what you need. Make sure that you buy a canopy that you are feeling comfortable to jump, if not you'll force yourself to try it cause you would have pay for it and it is not a good reason to downsize. ;) That is the mistake I did and decided to sell my kit back cause I was stressing too much to downsize at a rate I wasn't ready.

Sooo I’m going to look at a rig from 1987 with 200 jumps on it. I’m pretty skeptical but pictures looked nice, definitely using this video to help decide.
@Ijumpandfly4 жыл бұрын
Mate you would be suprised how many things i regret when they came because of pictures. I would not take rig over 30years old for free. Your life is worth more. Unless your comment was just a joke then yeah go for it :)
@clayb18324 жыл бұрын
Yea it was actually in great condition eventually might make a nice base rig because of some of things on it. Still renting gear at my local dz for the time being for Skydive’s tho shit sucks

What do you think about buying a new container, and add used main, reserve, and aad? I thinking of this because then you'll get 100% correct size on the container to fit your body.
@SkydiveVibes6 жыл бұрын
If you have the budget, this is really the way to go as finding a used container that fits well is hard. ;) Which brand are you thinking about?
@alexanderhlleland76436 жыл бұрын
@@SkydiveVibes Thats what I was thinking as well! Here in my drop zone (SkydiveVoss, Norway) we have a store you can buy either Aerodyne Icon A or UPT Vector v3. So I was thinking to go with the Icon A, and then add used canopies :D

where could i buy a parachute? is ebay a good place ?
@SkydiveVibes3 жыл бұрын
Did you start your AFF yet? Make sure to have started your course and have your A license at least and many more jumps before considering buying your own gear. By then you'll know where to find the best gear. Your question leads me to think you haven't started yet or barely started because by asking other jumpers you then will know this answer. To answer directly, no eBay isn't the best place. A good skydiving gear store of FB groups for used skydiving gear. But make sure you are instructed and ask questions before purchasing.
