There’s a possibility that if the gain was really high on the mic and the earphones were loud that they might’ve been feeding back. Meaning the sound coming out of the earphones was getting picked up by the mic, amplified and sent back out the earphones and into the mic over and over, usually creating a squeal. Usually would happen if the earphones weren’t in your ear. Or maybe it’s something else.

The squeak might’ve been your earphones! I’ve got some old apple earphones that started doing that every now and then when I plugged them in or if the wire was at a weird angle. Great vid btw ❤

For your mic just turn the volume down, plug in, then turn it back up. It’s simple feedback it’s just as you plug it in the noise from you touching it is loud enough in the headphones for the microphone to pick it’s own sound up and then multiply it within milliseconds to create the high pitch squeal. Super easy fix. Hope this helps!
