That’s it, gutting her out first... redo all the floors.... I think Pete is keen to fibreglass everything this time. He wants no timber because it rots eventually. We’ve started blast cleaning her as we’re gutting.... I’ll do another video update once we get some full days rolling. Peters an essential worker for the railway, so it’s busy times.

@@SkyeElizabethArtist awsome I can't wait. I'm doing a rebuild from a bare hull atm. But it's only a 5.5m glass boat.
@SkyeElizabethArtist4 жыл бұрын
Matthew Collas - Nice! Very nice! Pete did a rebuild on a Savage Surveyor a few years back. 5m single hull. Those are really handy boats to run! I miss ours
@SkyeElizabethArtist4 жыл бұрын
Matthew Collas - Pete just told me to let you know. Our boat we’re doing up now won’t have any timber going back into it either. You’ll see us going mainly fibreglass (won’t be starting that for another 6 months or so).... but no timber - because by using the new style compressed honeycomb fibreglass boards, there is no rot and used properly will last a lifetime - even when exposed to water. So Pete recommends with your glass single hull that if you can, don’t skimp and go timber, save yourself trouble later and go all fibreglass. And check out the new compressed honeycomb boards fibreglass
@matthewcollas14044 жыл бұрын

@SkyeElizabethArtist4 жыл бұрын
steven mckinsey oooh nice thinking there
@Whalermansteve844 жыл бұрын
George the Macaw & Skye Parrot Artist is recommend putting a pair of 100 gallon fuel tanks. One on each side to stabilize the boat. A pair of Mercury 300 verados will make that boat fly .. I’ve been wanting a cat hull for a while now , so I’m Anxious to see what you choose to turn the hulk into
@SkyeElizabethArtist4 жыл бұрын
steven mckinsey we’re actually thinking twin 300 Yamaha’s on the back. We’re going to rip out the whole top console yet, gut it even more and rebuild everything. We still want the nice inside living space. It’s good for a few days on the water then. Lots of room to sleep. And while it’s going to be primarily a fishing boat, we’re also setting up areas to stow scuba diving tanks and gear. It’ll be sweet when it’s done! We’re currently just taking a break from it as we plan our wedding and fishing trip in 4 weeks
