LYRICS:
Sleep… stay asleep.
My soul yearns for one last look at you
Before I leave you here to be hidden within idyllic peace
It’s the perfect memory and I keep it close to me
Bound with wire
Cut me deep into the seams
Flow the colours of the queen
I live like I’m the only one, the fragile one that fights to survive
Crown the liar
Buried deep beneath the cross
Tainted hearts forever lost
Sweet treasure, let go of all you know
Sweet treasure, you are the one, you are my only true pleasure
Now watch me burn it all down, parasite town
Far down below it’s a fight for survival
So scared as I am of you
I’ll burn it all down, parasite town
I call this survival
So scared as I am of you, parasite town.

How can people say that they aren't good ? This gave me chills, honestly, that sad feeling you get in your neck/throat area, made me get overwhelmed. Pure emotions, I just can't explain how I feel when I listen to this kind of music, I never can, it's beyond explanation. This is pure spiritual or non-bodied adventure/experience. It's a living source of my mind. It makes me feel like I'm flying and exploring unexplored places. And this doesn't happen often, after all of the songs that I've listened throughout my entire life, it's very hard to deliver those emotions. And these guys did. I just love the masterpiece they create.

Andrexthor What do you mean doesn't sound like skyharbor. It's skyharbor and they do whatever the fuck they want. This is their choice to make and if you want them to sound like a 1 note chugging djent crap, I think you should listen to someone else. This is a masterpiece, one mature song telling a story. Full of feelings.

Almost cried the first time I saw this. Maybe due to my experiences recently. For me the light symbolises hope and his "light in the dark". The thing that keeps the 'demons' away, his love for his family was what is was for him. The insect things symbolise the 'demons' that lead you towards death - the representations of struggles and battles that you might ultimately loose. Once the 'light' and life has gone from his lover - his life feels over too. Like things aren't worth anything anymore and his light goes out, no matter what he does. Then he's taken, and reunited with her afterwards. At least that want I take from it.

as much as i love this, i think every possible word that can praise this song and video has been said already, so i'll just say this: did everyone really understand the video? What i get out of it is that his light represents his state of mind. when he gets out of the house, he deals with so much misery and pain in the world, that his light almost fades away and makes him a negative, parasite-ridden person like all the other characters. What ultimately saves him from this fate is the ever-present memory of his wife and child, the love that should guide him home, on which he doesn't give up. is that right?
@nikolajsawitsch6978

This. Finally someone discussing the video's sense and interpretation and not talking about who did this style of animation first or if its a good song or not. Well....I agree with you in regards of your interpretation. How did you find the idea of the first source of light, the little carousel of stars and moons? That the light is not just from "anywhere" but that it is from somewhere even higher than our heavens, from beyond our world and reach, so to speak from our souls. The picture of stars and moons in the midsts of complete darkness, of space, is to a certain extend even metaphorical for the whole video. What do you think?
@astraldirectrix
@astraldirectrix 10 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU! I knew this video had some deeper meaning to it that nobody was talking about, but I couldn't pin it down. It's very touching.
@SloeElvis
@SloeElvis 10 жыл бұрын
well the carousel was pretty clearly one of those toy-things that hang atop a baby's crib, which is directly connected to the baby and therefore serves of a fitting place from where he'd psichologically recover the first light. I think trying to associate it to space and the stars is reading a bit too much into it, and the guys aren't really that pretentious or cryptic, the video is relatively straightforward.
@SloeElvis
@SloeElvis 10 жыл бұрын
***** maybe... Dan is a christian, so it's clear that the "crowned liar" who's "buried beneath the cross" is Jesus and the way the lyrics direct some negative energy towards him is an intentionally blasphemous statement. I dunno, i haven't thought too much about the lyrics, the video conveys a much more cohesive message to me, so i instead choose to draw my interpretations from there.
@jayadrathabose31
@jayadrathabose31 9 жыл бұрын
André Muricy I don't think they meant anything blasphemous to Jesus; in fact 'crowned-liar...buried beneath the cross' seems more like a reference to dead politicians/leaders/kings who are responsible for most of the problems plaguing the world today.

A similar sound to DT's side project Absent Hearts (if you haven't heard it is well worth a listen!). I'm pretty sure Keshav stated that this album would be in a much different direction than the previous one, as they wanted to branch away from being just a "metal" band. The first album was basically a conglomerate of Keshav's material through the years, and Guiding Lights would be a true collaborative effort. I know that all the guys are big fans of ambience, so I'd expect the rest of this album to maintain this "atmospheric" type of feel.

Trey Henry Thanks (? I made a big effort trying to get them by ear. Take into account that I'm not an English native speaker

The video is very similar to drag ropes in storm corrosion and the raven that refused to sing by steven wilson isn't it. I love the way they're made :)

Read the description. The video is made by Jess Cope and the team at Owl House Studios, the same creators of Raven and Drag Ropes videoclips (and many others).

This band is fucking brilliant. I can't wait to hear their new material with the new vocalist. They're truly a unique band that has their own influences and strong ambience. It definitely reminds me of Dead Letter Circus a little bit, and other prog like Karnivool or Leprous as well.

got to lobby U.S national talk show letterman, kimmel etc (random idea) so that this band would get the coverage they deserved
