Love this too! Good sound for being recorded on a tape recorder in the family lounge room!

I remember when I first heard Horror Movie on the radio I was blown away when the 2SM announcer said this is a new Australian band SKYHOOKS , I sat by the radio hoping to hear it again ....an hour later they did and I was totally HOOKED ! 😎

Way ahead of it's time. The song is more relevant now than it ever was. The shit the news is peddling now, making ppl live in fear.

Ironically enough, my real interest in and love for music probably started right around the same time Skyhooks got going with Shirl. Definitely somewhere in the 72-74 (early high school) period at least and while there's been many highlights along the way, I have to say one of the things that still knocks me out is hearing early versions of songs that we know inside out. I never get sick of hearing rehearsals/takes of songs that feature different lyrics, arrangements etc to the version that finished up being released. Thank you Peter for sharing this one.

Pretty good sound for a rehearsal. Drums not loud though. I wonder how close this was to the actual record recording?

You need to keep in mind it's recorded on a 1974 cassette player...so not the best source material for us. Lyrics are the original which changed a bit in the studio.
