I’ve always wondered how quiet to loud vocals are compressed in a live setting. Like quiet verses like Billie eilish to loud chorus like Kurt contain belting vocals. Sure in the studio you could record these parts separate but in a live setting how do compressors control going from quiet whisper like singing to loud vocals? Yes I know some of it could be mic technique pulling the mic away during loud parts . But I see some singers practically eating the mic non stop and wondering how all the vocals stay the same level and even.

Brick wall limiter or compressor. Use an LA2A and switch on the limiter switch. Was made for broadcast anyways.
